Nice look and feel. Food was great. Had duck poutine, wings and flatbread. Heard they changed the menu. It’s a shame but based on last visit can’t wait to try the new one.

Bad service, mixed bag on the food. Went to Maluca last night for the first time, I was not impressed. I can vouch for the bad service like I saw on the other reviews, our waitress was not even able to remember the specials without looking at her notes, we ordered the charcuterie and cheese platter and the other waitress that brought it to us had to ask one of the chefs to come out to tell us what was on the platters. Ridiculous, from someone that works in the industry I would strongly advise the owner/management to insist their staff knows what food it is they are serving. This is just laziness on the staff’s part, plain and simple. Now on to the food, I was impressed with the charcuterie platter, from what we were told by the chef everything was made in house and everything on there was high quality. Thoroughly enjoyed it. As far as the cheese platter- nothing against the chef, but the cheeses were uninspiring except for two, and the portions were ridiculously small for the price (it was either $25 or $27, cant remember which was which but either price is not justifiable whatsover). For that price I would expect either a better selection of high end cheeses, or at the very least bigger portions. My advice to management- review your staff and insist on higher standards from them, the bad service they provide will kill your business.

Awful food and service. Beautiful decor, the menu reads great but fails to deliver. Staff is polite but way too young and therefore incompetent. They runaround alot without much delivery at tables. The owner seems to be doing doing most of the work. It’s a mixed bag of wanting to attract all: fine dining, sports tv wine/martini bar not sure? The pop corn freebee at the table is a little cheezy for the impression the decor and menu suggest. At the bar maby? But at the table?????Two of us order the goat cheese tart which was super dried out my guess was that it had been reheated one too many times. My chicken was also reheated dried up hard as rock with no flavour. They replaced it with the burger which looked good but the meat tasted like burger king. Did not even take it home.Busy, noisy, the menu is not designed to accomodate fast delivery.I may try it again, but for a before dinner drink and eat elsewhere.

REGULARS SINCE DAY 1. To address the previous comment. I ate a maluca resturant Friday night and it was fantastic. The service was great it was busy and staff were still attentive. My wife and I actually shared the crab cakes and they were good, to follow my wife had the salmon and I had the burger ( what I always have) it was as good as it was the first time I had it. It’s unfortunate that you had a bad experience but my wife and I will be there again. Great job maluca staff keep up the great work!

Terrible! Would Never Go Back!. Went to this restaurant on Saturday for a bday with a party of 25. The place was pretty quite for the most part for a Saturday evening. The service was unbelievably BAD. The waitress was so rude and seemed annoyed anytime someone asked her anything. The food was TERRIBLE! We ordered a few plates of crab cakes as an app. It tasted worse then frozen crab cakes you buy at the grocery story. When we asked her to take a untouched plate of crab cakes back she refused. When we asked to speak to her manager he did not come to table to ask us what was wrong but relayed the msg that it could not be taken off the bill. After a few mins of discussing the matter with the waitress she took the order off the bill. The service was so slow it took a min of over 45 mins to receive our meals even though there was barely any other customers in the restaurant. Also read your bill carefully they made many mistakes and added additional items that were not ordered. Avoid the crab cakes, the signature burgers are to salty, fries and salads are the safe dishes to go with when there. As for the wine selection its very minimal considering they are a wine bar. The atmosphere is nice but if you are a foodie, a wine buff or just a person that likes to have good serivce I would avoid this place at all costs!

The Sweet Spot. I went to Maluca this past Monday with no reservation. We had a group of five and were accommodated right away. The menu had a nice selection and even though there are no beers on tap the bottle selection was good. I had the pizza and mussels. The mussels were tender and cooked perfectly. The pizza was a little too thin for my liking but i thought it was delicious. The service was good and the waitress checked up on us and often to make sure everything was alright. I would not hesitate to recommend Maluca for a night out

Great experience!. Went to the Maluca a couple times b4 for drinks, and decided to go for dinner last Friday. There were a lot of people but it seemed to add to the positive vibe in the place. Our server was attentive and always smiling. We ate the veggie burger and the souffle, both of which were deelish! Also had the pomegranate martini which was great! Will be back very soon!29 Oct, 2012GREAT!. Gotta say we loved this place! Read all the reviews and have no clue what the debbie downers are taking about. And really, being upset about an old fashioned???We went with a group of friends, received excellent service from a friendly server in the loungey area – soo comfy! The drinks were brought promptly and the food came out in great time too. We all loved the new menu. So happy to finally get a yummy veggie burger! Will be going back very soon
