Visited this restaurant for dinner with a friend. A nice place with a friendly calming interior and friendly welcoming wait staff. We both ordered oysters on the half shell for an appetizer and the sashimi dinner which is our normal test item for any Japanese restaurant. The major error came with our main course, we were both mistakenly presented with the sushi dinner. Unfortunate to see all that beautiful food wasted. The next disappointment came with the sashimi dinner, the cuts were smallish, oddly sliced and frankly didn’t look professional. Strange for a fairly high end restaurant.When we went there we were hoping for a good alternative to our favourite in Burlington. That didn’t happen. I might return to try a lunch but I’m not tempted to hurry back.@Caiterjoy
I went there on a Wednesday for dinner. Not to busy but decent amount of people inside. All were sitting in the interior room. They decided to sit us on the exterior room. I saw 2 tables by the windows in the interior and asked if we could sit by the window. The waitress/ hostess advised me that both tables were reserved. I thought it was strange because nothing was on the table. It thought nothing of it. 5 minutes later a couple walked in the door. The same waitress/ hostess asked if they had reservations.They replied no (i was away from everyone else and could hear it all because I was way at the door) she then sat them at one of the tables I had asked for 5 minutes ago. I asked the waitress why she gave away tables I had specifically asked for but was told they were reserved to the couple that had no reservations. She said she changed tables. We got up and left. I had no idea why she wouldn’t sit us by the window. I could only assume because we were Asian? She was Asian as well though. Maybe we’re weren’t dressed nice enough? I enjoy living in Oakville. I’m very fortunate to live in South Oakville. Im fortunate to own a very nice home and drive fancy cars. The Elitest attitude in oakville is the only thing that bothers me. MYE made me feel like we were living in the 50’s. I’ve been here many times before. The food is above average for Japanese food, not very good value compared to other Japanese restaurants in the GTA. I like supporting local restaurants. Unfortunately I will never be back and will never endorse the restaurant again.
