I ordered lunch green curry and pad thai and they were great except their sweet and sour soup as a part of lunch menu wasn’t so great. Many reviews say service was not great and I agree. It is not too bad but not so great either. I am willing to visit here again to try other dish but it would be great if they can improve their service a little bit
Food was decent however the service was absolutely atrocious. Did not even get water within the first 20 minutes of sitting down, had to ask and even then it took another 5 minutes. The lady boss made up some excuse that she was in the kitchen watching our fish get boned which is why it took so long. What???? Also I should mention we were like one of 3 tables in the restaurant on a Tuesday night.. Terrible terrible experience. Will never go again
Lots of reviews, some really bad, some really good, so we weren’t sure what to make if it, but in summary, we’d go back.5pm on a Sunday, and only 2 other tables, so service wasn’t being tested, however we were served quietly and efficiently. We noticed lots of folk getting take out, and no one was waiting, so the kitchen was up to it too.Food was very good. We ordered the papaya salad and tamarind beef, (plus one side of rice), and we really enjoyed it. Tamarind beef was very good, nice curry, little bit of a kick. Beef was tender (i.e. it wasn’t left over from lunch). Papaya salad was good, although different than I expected….more lemon, less sweet than I have had at other places.Portion size was very good. Shared the above two dishes with the Spousal Unit, and while we weren’t too hungry to start with, we were really full when we left. Prices – yes, the prices are up there, however the restaurant & ambiance is very nice, with pleasant sculptures to look at and soft music. Can you find similar Thai food in a hole in the wall in Markham for less? Maybe, but you won’t enjoy the evening as much. And the same can be said for many pricier asian/SE asian restaurants (have read similar comments about Dynasty Chinese in Yorkville).Best Thai? Nope. Cheapest? Nope. A nice evening out with some good Thai food in a nice restaurant? Yes, and we would return again
I cannot express how horrific our experience was there!!!!!. Okay maybe I can express it here: the service was beyond disappointing. I went there for my surprise birthday dinner and when we arrived it looked very nice, but when we sat down we weren’t greeted. It took about 40 minutes to get drinks. My cousin was pregnant and asked the bartender for some water, he wouldn’t give it to her; instead he went to find our server who didn’t come until about another 15min later. We had 1 server for the group of 16 of us. Never have I had this happen in all of my years of dining. When she took our order she was unfriendly, sloppy and had a bit of an attitude. When the food came about another hour later, it was disappointing. I don’t know if it was because we had a large group, but it was not up to par. My sister had relayed her concern about the food to another server because ours was nowhere to be found and he didn’t really have anything to say. We asked to speak with the manager and they both said that they were the manager. All in all, we left EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED. Our server was very rude in the end to where her and I started yelling at each other and that’s when half of us walked out of the restaurant. The customer service was ridiculously pathetic. NEVER EVER will we go there again or recommend it to our friends.
Do not go!!!! watered down drinks and bleached food. Went jan 2015. My boyfriend and ordered classic martinis. They could not of been watered down more. There was maybe 1/4 vodka in a drink that is 100% vodka. It was really just a $12 glass of water. The food was not great. The pad thai was fine but the beef dish was very questionable. I am really not sure that is was beef or just super low quality. There was a very strong bleach taste to the beef dish and the chicken app. I have been there before about a year ago and it was good, so i was super unimpressed. I will never go back. It cost us over $100 when the quality was about $20 worth of food.
Amazing Thai Food. This is my favorite place to go for Thai food. A lot of Thai places are beat up looking, this place is beautifully decorated. I’ve tryed many dishes here including sweet and sour shrimp (everything in it was very fresh, the veggies and the pineapple) the chicken pad thai, fresh spring rolls, chicken satay, and chicken curry. All of them were great. There’s one waitress that I always get who is very nice , I can’t eat eggs or dairy and she always accomodates me and is very helpful. The food is meant to be shared and this restaurant is better if you go with a few people. The only thing I’m not a huge fan of is the prices. The food can get expensive, but it is very good. Part of you knows that you are also paying for the extensive decor and the fact that it’s downtown Oakville.
