Been coming here over a decade. It was the place that got me into sushi back in high school. There is no better tasting Spicy Salmon Maki anywhere in the West GTA. Highly recommend ordering the sushi deals off the specials board. I always get the 12 pc spicy salmon maki lunch special, or the 8pc green dragon roll + 6pc spicy salmon maki roll for dinner. Dinner time is great because they give you so many random extras ontop of miso soup and salad, including japanese tempura noodle soup, edmame, and fruit dessert for no extra charge.

Have only been here a few times Over the past few years, always take out. Order was always as expected and pretty good quality fish. I dined in tonight for the first time and didn’t have the best experience. I had to send one appetizer back as it did not taste right, but at the end of the meal it was still on my bill. I asked for it to be removed as I has sent it back but their response was ‘just because you did not like it doesn’t mean we won’t charge you’. Tried to explain my situation but no luck. I’m a firm believer on overall customer satisfaction vs. keeping $4.95 on a rather large bill for one person. I unfortunately won’t be returning.
A change in Sushi Chefs has effected the quality. Unfortunaly the quality has gone down. The Sashimi and Sushi are cut too thick. Making the fish tough. I hate two bite Sushi. The Rice is poorly done now also. Too bad we really liked going to Niwa. We will come back in few months to see if things have improved.19 Mar, 2013Eat here 4-5 times a month. Great service great food. Very friendly staff. Small place, can get busy on the weekends.
Great sushi and great price. Also has consistently good service.
The quality and quantity of the food at Niwa has gone down. Very disappointed!
Favorite sushi place. This is my favorite sushi place for either dining in or ordering out. While dining in, the smaller restaurant has these cozy booths. Service is very courteous and relatively fast for a sushi place. All sushi is made to order, nothing prepared in advance.
