Long wait for food. We had dinner on a Friday night at Gingerman. The restaurant was busy. Busy enough that they had run out of the soup. The was excellent. I had the mushroom lasgan which I thoroughly enjoyed and my wife’s mahi mahi was great as well. The problem was that we had to wait a long time for our food to arrive after ordering. We enjoyed the food, but the long wait for food spoiled the dining experience and we aren’t likely to return.
A Restaurant Consultants Made. Beautiful Decor. Pleasant ambiance. Easy parking. Will go back to try it again, but……They would not sell us, feed us or serve us our meal without mustard, because…and get ready for this silliness…the food is prepared each morning. And yet when it arrived, it appeared that the mustard had JUST been added. Not a pleasant thought come dinner time. If I want non fresh food, I will go home and reach into the back of the fridge. Also our waitress said we could order San Pelligrino and proceeded to bring us something else. Hmm… And their Croque Monsieur was not a proper Croque Monsieur. Hence the remark that the restaurant was created by consultants without heart. But we will nonetheless go back and see if the second experience is different and if they still have all their rules and regulations. 🙂
Small menu great quality. Although it has been said that alcohol is expensive at the gingerman it’s because they pour very well crafted beers with your choice of sized mug. I always like going here as an alternative to stoney’s. The gingerman mainly focuses on seafood with pub food. Burgers are great but not the best in town. Soups are good and I’m not big on soups. The lobster Bisque is a cheap alternative for those looking to save a few dollars. My personal favorite is the lobster grilled cheese and a side of fries. It’s makes my night. Even more when the hockey game is on. I’ve recommended this place to my parents and they have brought there friends. It’s kinda odd when you bump into them now and again. Service is always excellent. I’ve never had a bad experience. I hope this place sticks around for years! If you can afford 30 dollars per person (which isn’t all that bad IMHO)
Went there for lunch. Potato Soup was nice, could have had more flavour. We ended up leaving without ordering entrees because I was told my sandwich was pre-made and I could not get it without mustard. Very disappointed in pre-made food at these prices. Average $16 per entree.I wonder how many other entrees are pre-made.
CRAZY EXPENSIVE AND IT KEEPS GETTING MORE EXPENSIVE. Ives ate here a few times and ever time it keeps getting more expensive beers start at 8 bucks for a canadian. you could get a cheaper meal at a strip club.
They did an excellent job in making the place look great. The food was delicious and overall, satisfying. My friends and I are in our early 20’s, and I’m not sure if it was our age, but we found that our waiter spoke to us in a condescending and rude manner. Service was a little slow as well, even though it wasn’t busy. We asked for refills on our drinks a number of times before it happened. However, I’ll trust my better judgement and definitely return in the future.
