The King’s Arms rocks.. Great party place at night and really good food, drinks and value. Friendly staff and professional owners. A cornerstone of Oakville ‘ s nightlife. Best Curry in GTA.
Thumbs up. Usually come here at night with friends, tried their food at lunch for the first time and got the beef mini soft tacos. They were very good with fresh ingredients! Also got 3 mini pitchers for a great price on their deal day.
Pleasantly surprised. Well done.
Love it. Great food with the new menu. Been coming to this pub for over 5 years. Such a transformation. The floors and the seating, sexy place inside. Almost taking it away from a pub feel. Staff is extremely nice. Almost too nice actually… SO NICE… that maybe if they are NOT nice they will be beaten and taken slave by management for all eternity!!!! imagine??…… haha, awesome awesome awesome place. If your from oakville or the surrounding area, everyone knows the arms. Highly recommended. One warning tho. After 11pm this place is a stomping ground for the college kids. Im usually in bed by then.
Hidden gem – literally. This place is a pretty unique Irish pub.I live right around the corner, so I walked by this building quiet often but never had realized that there is a beautiful setting of patio with big tall trees inside.Inside the pub, you have the typical Irish pub settings with a giant LCD TV on wall for all sports needs. Also a few arcade settings and a dart setting as well. The menu is a bit unique as well, as the drink prices are not listed – this can be scary but they charge the typical rates, around 5 bucks for a pint of all your favorite brewskis. The food is where this place shines though – except for the longer than usual waiting (volume of the crowd wasn’t even large). Our party of four ordered a plate each of entree including: Chicken parmigiana, Beef stew pie, Banger’s mash, and Butter chicken curry. The curry is superb – comes with a bowlful of rice (or nann) and some veggies on the side. Very filling.Chicken parmigiana is excellent as well – but felt a bit fatty.Beef stew pie, I couldn’t finish it as the portion was surprisingly big.Banger’s mash was a bit of a let down however.Overall, very unique setting of this place calls out for a few pint of drinks, and the food is excellent, and the price is moderate. If you can handle the longer than typical waiting time for food, it is worth stopping by here which is located in the heart of downtown Oakville.Verdict: 8/10
Gross and Grosser. My wife and I just ate at the King’s Arms, which was a recommendation of someone local in Oakville. The steak sandwich was inedible: some sort of mystery cut of meat smothered in hp sauce inside a big stale bun. We each tried one bite and gave up on the tough meat/grissle sandwich. The King Club was slightly better. They somehow even managed to produce gross fries and onion rings that tasted like the grease handn’t been changed in quite a while in their fryer. I will say that the back patio looks like it would be a good spot for pints in the summer but if you’re hungry you may get disapointed.
You’re paying for the location. OK, this place has a great location and I’ve pissed away lots of money in this bar over the years and always had a good time.. But when the cheque comes, it’s usually like a punch in the groin. You are truely paying simply to drink in the location, and the atmosphere certainly is no nicer than your average pub, and the food has never been anything special.. So while it’s a fun place to drink and shows all the UFC and sports and stuff, it sure is expensive and not really worth it
