FOOD:I had been to the Kinton Ramen location on Bloor Street in Toronto a few years ago therefore, I thought I would give the Mississauga location a try. When I had first entered, I had to wait a bit before being given a table. Once I was seated, there were a few menu options to choose from, with one of them being a combo, which included an appetizer and noodles, and the other being the noodles only. I had settled on the 1 Original Chicken Ramen With Thick Noodles Combo ($14.99), which included the appetizer of Chiki Chiki Don, which was white rice with cold chicken peppered on the top. My husband had settled on the 1 Original Pork Ramen With Thin Noodles & Extra Pork Combo ($18.99), which included the Ton Ton Don, which was also white rice however, with cold pork on the top.I had received the Chiki Chiki Don first, which was a small dish of plain white rice, with a small mountain of cold chicken on the top. The chicken was good however, I wasnt too keen on it being cold, even though I know thats how its supposed to be. The rice though was very dry, and I had to use the broth from the noodles to give it a better taste. In terms of the noodle dish itself, I found it to be much too small for the $12.99 that I had paid. The noodles themselves were supposed to be thick however, they didnt look thick to me, which was somewhat of a disappointment. Also, the noodles included only a few medium pieces of boiled chicken, a few scallions, and one uncooked egg, which I had never tried before. I couldnt believe that I had to pay that money for that dish. It was somewhat filling however, it wasnt as good as I would have thought.ATMOPSHERE:This restaurant was situated on Confederation Parkway, which is across from the YMCA near Square One. On both sides of the street, there was paid parking however, since I was here on a Sunday evening, it was free to park. Also, the entryway to wait for a table was in-between two doors, which was uncomfortable as people kept going in and out of the doors. I could only imagine how that would be in the winter time. In terms of the seating itself, I was situated at a high table with wooden stools at the front of the window, so, people lining up outside could see everything that I was eating, which was a bit uncomfortable. Also, the stools were so hard, making my back hurt as I waited for my food. It was so loud and tight in the restaurant, which made it difficult to walk if I had wanted to leave for any reason. I felt very claustrophobic, and didnt want to stay long as I felt uncomfortable. Also, it was hard to get the servers attention as I was tucked away from view.SERVICE:The service here was very poor, considering that it was such a busy restaurant, and that it had just newly opened. When I was seated, I was given a menu right away however, it took them a long time to get to me, and it was difficult to find them as there were so many people in the restaurant. I had to wait almost thirty minutes for a bowl of noodles, which I thought was much too long, considering all of the chefs they had working there. Also, in terms of when I had wanted to pay, it was again a long wait, which was a nuisance by that point. The servers themselves were pleasant when they came to the table however, it wasnt worth all of the waiting that I had to do from when I had first arrived, until I was finished. COST:1 Original Chicken Ramen With Thick Noodles: $12.99 + 1 Original Pork Ramen With Thin Noodles & Extra Pork: $18.99 + 1 Chiki Chiki Don (Part Of Combo): $2.00 + 1 Ton Ton Don (Part Of Combo): $2.00: $35.90 + Tax = $40.66WOULD YOU RETURN?Not at all; the food was okay however, the cost was much too high, the service was too slow, and the atmosphere was uncomfortable.
