Love The Veal Sandwich!. I came in here on a Friday afternoon at around 1:45 pm as I was hungry for lunch and had heard great things about this place. When I walked in, I was instantly greeted by someone behind the counter as I noticed the line-up at the counter. I excused myself to use the restroom, then came back to stand in the line. I was only standing in the line for about three minutes until I was asked by the woman behind the counter what I would like. I chose the Regular Veal Sandwich, which came out to a bit over $8.00. I was asked what my name was, then I sat down and waited for my sandwich. I chose to get only cheese as an additional topping as that was the only option that interested me. Once I sat down, I waited about five minutes for my sandwich to arrive. When the woman brought me my sandwich, she apologized as she didn’t know that I had asked to eat-in as opposed to taking-out. I said that it was okay and that I understood the circumstances. She was quite kind about it, which made the interaction with her friendly. Once I was ready to bite into my sandwich, I was quite hungry at that point. When I opened up the wrapping, I noticed that there was steam coming out of the bun, which made me excited as I love hot sandwiches. When I bit into the sandwich, it was like heaven on earth; there were two pieces of veal, smothered in homemade tomato sauce with cheese melted in-between each piece of veal. The bread was also fresh, tasting soft when I bit into it. I was beyond impressed with how delicious this sandwich tasted, it was the best veal sandwich that I had ever tasted, and it filled me up beyond belief!Although this restaurant was quite small, it definitely did what it had to do in terms of accommodation for sandwich eating. The service was also outstanding, with all of the individuals displaying big smiles, and helping out where needed. Also, the price for a sandwich that size was unbelievably good, better than I expected! Will definitely be coming back to this place, and will most certainly be referring it to others!

I visit On A Bun for take out every time I return to Calgary. My friends in Cowtown love the Toronto Italian veal sandwiches I fly in. I wish the family business would franchise out west. I’m stopping in today. It’ll be a good start to the new year!

Best Veal Sandwich Around!!. My husband and I have been coming here since they opened. The owner and his wife are super nice. We’ve never tried anything else but the Veal and it is the best veal around. Since they are closed in the evenings we tried to go to another well known sandwich place that makes veal sandwiches but it cannot be beat! It truly is the best Veal Sandwich place not on in Mississauga, but the GTA. I’d like to challenge anyone who knows of a better place!

My new ‘go to’ sandwich spot. I live in the area and have gotten flyers from this place for some time now. I always meant to try it out but never got around to it. I finally decided to look it up — It had good reviews and was a hop and skip from my place, so I checked it out with my girlfriend. The storefront owner was extremely courteous, greeting us when we walked in and wishing the customers goodbye and thank you each time someone left.I ordered a mild junior veal, it was well seasoned, had a nice crust, just the right amount of heat to it, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.My girlfriend ordered a mild junior sized sausage and onion bun (which she gave me half in exchange for my veal). It didn’t have the same heat as the veal, but with sweet peppers (additional $0.66) it was still very good.Overall I enjoyed the two sandwiches which are well priced for the amount you get!

By far the best sandwich in the GTA. I live north of the city and anytime I’m within acceptable distance to On a Bun, I stop and pickup a few sandwiches to bring home to the family. I have tried sandwiches from all over and this place is the best! You won’t be disappointed.
