Their food is amazing. I have nothing but good things to say. The cevapi is always cooked to perfection and the burek is fresh and flaky. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this place (it’s in a residential area) because I go there at least 2 times a month.
Tiny grocery store with a cafe/kitchenette in the back that offers up some cooked food options. Mrakovic offers up some nice little treats and foods from the Balkan Peninsula. The store has all these little Eastern European treats like Polish candies and Bosnian canned goods. There are also lots of different salami, sausages, and other meats at their deli counter. This review is more focused on the cafe in the back. When you reach out back, there is this small little spot where you can grab some lunch or snack. The main thing of interest here for me was the cevapi. Homemade little morsels of meats that resemble burnt vienna sausages. The cevapi are pockets of minced meat cooked on a kebab and then grilled to char before being stuffed into the most incredible bread. The bread was actually my favorite part because it was so fluffy, warm, and soft. The cevapi is salty but there is sour cream and onions to help with that. Also got some spinach and cheese pie to go with it. The crust was flaky but the filling wasn’t real prominent. I’d probably pass on it again in the future.Located right by some small grade school, it is a tiny plaza that you’ll probably overlook had you not looked for it on Yelp. Pop in if you ever want to try Cevapi and never have. And if you love it, you should definitely swing by as there aren’t many places like this around the area. cheatdayeveryday.com
