This place got my vote as a dinner stop tonight for two reasons. One, the reviews were decent; and two it was close to the hotel.I’ll be honest – I tend to stay away from Chinese food when I travel because there’s a lot of very mediocre Chinese places and I’m spoiled by some great ones in the GTA. That said I don’t have anything bad to say about this place. The ambiance was open and bright, and clean. The staff was friendly and the service was fast and pleasant. The food was fine – Canadian Chinese – chicken balls, etc. I had a combo plate that was more than enough food, and served hot and fresh. The quality was fine – it is what it is generally for Chinese food. If you like it you probably will be satisfied; if you want a more authentic Chinese meal, then it’s probably not your cup of tea. For me it was good but not great.Meal and a beer set me back close to $30 tip in (that included a beer), so the value propose is probably just average. On the whole it was fine, and the good service does deserve kudos. I’d probably come again on a future visit. 3,5 a little high but 3 too low. Can I choose 3.25?
Love this place! Very quick and friendly service. Always a great place to go for lunch. They’ve renovated as well and it looks fantastic. The price is right and the food is delicious
High price for poor food. Just had a dinner for four from Mr.Chinese. Added extra order BonBon & Beef and Greens. Bon Bons cooked too much, Beef& Greens overlooked, Chichen fried rice was flavourless. Egg rolls and BonBons must have been cooked in same ancient grease- they tasted the same. Not a good deal for $100!! Couldn’t finish- leftovers in garbage.
The food is the best in town.. but the prices are getting a little too high to justify chinese food. friendly staff. who am i kidding.. ill be back
User reviews. Best Chinese food in the city hands down. Whenever I`m near the place, I`ll stop by to grab a bite to eat. Good special soup.
High prices, greasy food, nice service. This place has friendly service, which makes you feel bad about complaining about the food, but it really isn’t that good. The only thing I would say is worth ordering are the Vietnamese egg rolls (spring rolls), but the rest is just average overprice greasy Canadian-Chinese food. Delivery took a very long time after 8pm at night.
Tasty stuff. I lived in Thunder Bay for three years, tried a lot of the Chinese restaurants throughout the city and found Mr. Chinese to be the best. I would suggest the deep fried wontons=lots of pork; JJ Chicken=peppers, onions, chicken in a black bean sauce. The staff was always smiling, food was fast when eating in, and food was worth the price. I stop in there everytime we go through T.Bay.
