Mediocre at best. Nothing overly special about Salween. Not sure what all the rave is about. The portion was also that for a small girl. A grown man needs 2 dishes.
Curry too watery, delivery unreliable.. The food was okay… I ordered a curry and it was extremely watery, basically soup. I also had an issue with their delivery as well. The lady on the phone told me it would be 45 minutes but it took 90 minutes. Also when the delivery person arrived he didn’t have any change and expected a 10$ tip since he did not have any 5s on him to make change…
Adventure on traditional meals!. We drove all the way from Winnipeg to get the taste of Salween yummy dishes and there’s no dubt it was soooo worth it. Every dishe we ate was so delicious we didn’t even know how much we ate by the time we were stuffed. I love going there and if there’s any chance I pass by Thunder Bay, Salween will be my first stop for sure. You definitely gotta eat there!!
Over the top. This is a gem of a find. By far the best pad thai in town. The curries dance on your tongue as you enjoy the individual flavours within the dish. Service is prompt, friendly and very polite. If there was a liquor license I’m sure it would be busier so I encourage you to get in there and try it out.
Great Service, Amazing food!. I love southeast asian cuisine, and I have spent some time in Thailand. I was very excited to hear that a Burmese/Thai restaurant had opened in town. The atmosphere is very nice, and the restaurant is very clean. The waitress was incredibly friendly, and was very helpful. The food was amazing. We had ordered the Onoke Kao Soi (Burmese noodle soup), Burmese fried onion, and the tea Salad. The ingredients were very fresh and the flavors were strong and delicious. I have no frame of reference to what authentic Burmese food tastes like, but this was certainly delicious and is very comparable to authentic Thai cuisine. I will definitely be returning.27 Aug, 2014Tea Salad. Fresh and unique27 Aug, 2014Onoke Kao Soi. Super creamy and delicious
Amazing service, better food!. In Thunder Bay there are very few places that offer the exciting flavours and tastes that you get in Asia or even in a bigger city, but this is definitely one of them. I’ve come here numerous times with my family and friends and will keep coming back again and again! I simply love this place and it reminds me of my travels in Burma and Southeast Asia!
Yummy Curry. I love curry and haven’t found a place that satisfies my curry cravings. A friend brought me here for lunch and I had the red chicken curry, hot. It was delicious. So, delicious I couldn’t wait to go home and have my leftovers for dinner. Today I had the green chicken curry, hot, which was equally as tasty. Hands down, best curry in TBay.
