THE BEST!. Tina’s is the BEST breakfast place in Thunder Bay. When we first moved here, everyone told us to go to the Hoito, but we went there, and the Hoito was dark and grubby and had horrible service. And for such a crappy place, the line-up was out the door and it took FOREVER to get a table. We have never gone back. We go to Tina’s every weekend! Their prices are affordable, not much more than the Hoito at all. Today we got two BIG brunch meals for a total of $37. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and clean and friendly. The staff are amazing, and service is fast! My coffee cup never goes empty because they always come around ready to re-fill. The food is DELICIOUS!! It’s my favourite restaurant in Thunder Bay, and I will continue to go there every single weekend as long as I live here.
My fiance and son had decided to take me to Tinas for breakfast on mother’s day. Well the wait wasn’t an issue it was the service. We waited about 10 to 15 minutes for our drinks, i also asked for a water which i didn’t get until the 3rd time i had to ask for it. Then another 35 mins had gone by and we hadnt received our meals yet. So i flag our waitress down to ask why her why had the table behind us only 10 mins agi received their food before us when weve been here for almost an hr at this point? She then tells us she forgot to put it in the computer and it just went on the grill now. By this time my 5 yr old is irritable, i am pregnant and have absolutely no more patience. So another 10 minutes go by and finally our food had come. I didn’t even finish eating as i was so upset and i was crying by this point from my hormones. Worst experience of my life at Tina’s. Will not recommend Tina’s to no one. The waitress was on her 3rd shift. Still no excuse for forgetfulness. She shouldnt have been on shift on Mothers day if you have no experience!!!

Superb food and service. Another fine lunch at a restaurant that features some of the finest waitress’s available in the Thunder Bay area.Wait times have varied from 0 min to 15 min on busy days.Have tried most Breakfast items and do not have any complaint other than too much food at times (better to go there hungry)Pricing is above the regular greasy spoon style but the items served are of superior taste and texture quality with the fruit being a welcome bonus that most don’t get when cooking at home or in most other breakfast/lunch restaurants. Have not found any of the dish’s tried. overpriced for what was served. You get what you pay for and a clean fresh and very friendly service establishment.Tina’s has hit on all the positives from my perspective.Just a note to the scam artists that try to get their meals for free at any establishment I have seen some try many different tricks but when your complaint comes after your plate is 80% empty, before trying these subversive tactics everyone around you see’s what you are and believe me you get talked about around town.Keep up the fine food and service Tina’s and thank you to the serving staff and kitchen staff for many fine and enjoyable meals
Went there for breakfast/lunch on May 14/13 for the first and last time. Ordered an overpriced omelette without mushrooms. Quite sometime later the waitress brought our food out to us and my omelette was loaded with mushrooms. When I told her she said oh do you want me to order you a new one(no apology) and I told her we did not have time. I did not eat any of the omelette after I saw there were mushrooms in it but did eat the other food on my plate(I was hungry). When the bill came and I saw the omelette on the bill I was shocked. When I asked the waitress why she said that I had eaten the other food on the plate. Bad service and horrible over priced food. I will not go back. Now I know why there was only a few people in the restaurant.
Ordered the eggs Benedict with salmon, and was extremely disappointed. The salmon was fried (which is a gross taste especially with smoked salmon). The fruit was placed on the plate and got covered in hollandaise sauce, which is strange since my date got her fruit in a bowl. Waitstaff was rather inattentive, and the food was overpriced. Save some money and go to the Hoito, better food and service.
Have been there a few times and have always enjoyed their breakfast. Good hardy egg/bacon dish and great omelettes. Restaurant was clean and very good service. Thunder Bay needed a good breakfast restaurant, glad to have one that offers a decent menu with reasonable prices.
