Our daughter booked a table for 6 adults and 2 toddlers for a 2yr Olds birthday today arrived and had to wait for them to put the tables together I guess they forgot we were coming. Service was just ok 90% of the food was un-eatable 2apps came out together the 3rd arrived 10 mins later the tomato soup was great there were only about 6 tables of people but still took an hour to get the rest of what they call food. No one ever came back to refill drinks or check if we needed anything. Just a total lack of caring. Avoid at all costs…any east side!
East Side Mario’s… More like Worst Side Mario’s. We dined here and had a terrible experience as a party of 10 including one toddler. While blame cannot fairly be placed on one particular member of the staff, I felt there was a disconnect in communication with the servers and a lack of training, along with carelessness and skill in the kitchen. If you are serving food to customers, you should understand the difference between cold cuts vs oven roasted sliced meat. If you do not know this already, this should come with training provided. Our drink orders were taken within a reasonable amount of time, but there was a bit of a wait to receive them and then again quite a wait to receive our underwhelming salads and bread. The bread we noticed came from a large cardboard box where the young gentleman working the pizza station placed them in the oven.As the mains were brought out a few at a time, the whole table was eventually eating and approximately halfway through the meal, I had to mention that I was in fact not eating as my meal had not arrived. It was disappointing that our server or other waitstaff would fail to notice that an entree was missing at such a large table, and halfway into the meal. Thankfully, the underwhelming salad was filling, and I was a little bit curious to see when they would notice my missing meal before I decided to say something. Where I have to give credit however, is that the manager came over to apologize and admitted my order was simply missed. Fair enough, mistakes happen. When my meal did arrive however, it was horrible. I had ordered the Firecracker Chicken and not only did the veggies look overcooked, the potatoes were horribly soft and greasy, the chicken barely edible, and the mushrooms did not look washed. Our server asked if I would care to have my meal wrapped up and I let him know I did not enjoy it for which he apologized and explained the order was missed as the manager had previously. I must give points to the manager as he had excellent customer service skills and made a point to speak with our entire group about our less than stellar visit and provided us with free lunch coupons. While I will not be visiting this location, or another East Side Mario’s ever again, I appreciated that he acknowledged the shortcomings of his restaurant and I hope they’re able to correct them going forward. At the end of this visit I can say that the drinks were pretty good, so kudos to the bartender.
WORST ESM experience ever! Got to the restaurant at 4:30pm for Father’s Day dinner. Got sat right away. Ordered drinks; a beer, a pop, and an apple juice for our 2 and a 1/2 year old, waited and waited. Waitress finally came to us with the excuse that they had to change the keg for my beer, but did not bring my toddler’s juice or my wife’s pop? After the drinks finally made it to the table, we ordered. Must have taken 20 minutes to get the free bread. but at least we had some food to feed our daughter. 1 bread for 3 people (good math skills ESM?) fed most of it to our daughter. Waited, waited, finally salad came with another bread for our daughter. this is about 45 minutes in to our meal. noticed new people were being sat around us and getting bread and salad, before our meals? Our daughter was getting antsy, being seated for an hour before her kids pepperoni pizza came out; lukewarm and burnt, and our meals were not ready. The straw that broke the camels back was when customers at the next table that were seated around 5:20, were being given their meals before our meals were any anywhere in sight! We had to ask for a manager. Of course as soon as you ask for the manager, our food appears (@ 6pm); and it looked like it had sat for a half hour under a warmer. We refused to pay for any of it. This is not the 1st time we’ve been disappointed by this restaurant, but it is the 1st time we refused to pay, and the LAST TIME we will ever step foot in it!!! Happy Father’s Day dinner came from the McDonalds across the street! and they gave us 1000% better customer service and freshly prepared food.
Makeover looks great!
Bada-Bing!. A very good friend of mine is an employee at this location, and I feel comfortable in saying that all the staff cares about is socializing. It isn’t the new, untrained staff, either. It’s the ones that have been there for years. They often forget the cheese/pepper salads, and drink slowly! They’ll take a good 10-15 minutes to refill your drink.Food is always outstanding, I’m a sucker for their fettucine alfreido with shrimp, their caesar salad, and cheese capaletti. For a really sugarry and satisfying dessert, order the bada-bingers, they’re to die for. Although the servers like to chit chat, you can be in and out of there in under 40 minutes (if you go between 11-12 or 2-4, or after 8), so it is a great place to grab a quick bite. Staff is great with kids, has a really warm and inviting feel.
Eek….. Desperately needs a makeover (has for years!) and you never know what you’re going to get with the food. If they’re out of basil, they will try to substitute spinach…. and if you ask them to fix your food, they send you more spinach…. This restaurant is better since the new owners took over but is still a last resort for a place to go.
I’m heading to the West Side. If you want the best unlimited bread and salad, go here. But, if you want a decent dinner, don’t! I am not a chef by any standards but I do know how to cook pasta. This is not ‘al dente’ my friends but undercooked spaghetti. At least undercooked is better than overcooked which is what my boyfriend received. He got his mushy mess with a couple of cold clams on top, not only did it look like vomit, but it tasted like it as well. The waitress seemed to be busy chatting rather than doing her job, I asked for a refill on our drinks and she preceded to sit and talk to a coworker for a good ten minutes, I timed it. I truly love Italian food and this was a grave disappointment…Out of 10? Maybe a 4, hey, that bread is delicious.
