  Like the Kiwi but still after several visits the service is soooooooo slow. One should not have to keep looking for someone to give money too for drinks

  We just stopped in for a light lunch after a Sunday matinee at the Arts Centre across the street. The place was empty, except for someone at the bar so service should have been decent. It was terrible!! It took forever to get 2 cups of cool warm coffee, since no one was in a hurry to come to us after arrival. We waited forever for our food and the poutine was garbage – the person who ordered it left most of it on his plate. The gravy was bland and heavy, the cheese was stringy and tasteless. The sliders were dry non-eventful, while the child’s meal of grilled cheese was eaten by my niece, the empty bottle of ketchup that went with it was annoying. The prices were high and the service was slow, the food was bad and the empty surroundings were cavernous. we will never go back.

  Fantastic. Four of us went for a birthday dinner. Between us, we had several appetizers, steak, pasta, and salmon and some good wine. The striploin was one of the best I’ve had, and cooked perfectly. We would have had dessert, but the portion sizes were more than ample – a refreshing site. The chef here obviously knows what they’re doing with some unique dishes and flavours that didn’t disappoint. Service was fantastic.The beer selection is impressive, and includes many local beers. This was a pleasant find, and we’ll certainly be returning before long.

  I would not go back. Went out for a date night with my husband here last night. We arrived and after waiting a while with no one around were finally told to ‘Just sit anywhere’ by a teenager in jeans and a t-shirt. Eventually a server came around, and honestly we felt as though we were bothering them by attempting to eat there. We were the only ones in the back room, we ordered a bottle of Chardonnay, which came to our table at room temperature about half an hour after ordering it. We split a salad to start which was just okay, and both ordered the steak with roasted garlic potatoes. The steak was fine, the potatoes were fried not roasted and honestly tasted like something out of a McCain’s freezer bag. Dry, flavourless, I couldn’t even eat them and I love potatoes. VERY disappointing meal, and our bill was $106. Absolutely NOT worth the price, service was terrible. We could hear 3 different sources of music there as well. One in our section, different louder music from the bar area out front and then rap or hip hop or something coming from the kitchen, just terrible. We would not go back and would certainly advise our friends to skip it.

  Went here on a Monday night with a groupon that allowed $52 worth of food for the price of $25. For a slow Monday night that only had about 3 tables, Service was awful!! Nobody greeted us or sat us. No one even told us about the back room. Finally getting up to grab menus we were greeted with a male waiter who seemed so disinterested. He was more concerned with talking to the table his girlfriend and her friends sat at. While running food he even paused to chat before delivering it to another table. Only plus side was that the food was AMAZING! It would’ve been so expensive without the groupon. Lamb lollipops were my favourite! I don’t think I would come back because the service was awful! It sucks because the food was really good.

  Provided feedback and no reply…. This is an email I sent to the manager and president of the restaurant after we attempted to dine at the restaurant through their Groupon offer a few months ago:I was in town with my wife from Alberta we were accompanied by our family from Guelph. We were not able to enjoy any of your menu entree items as we were told on repeat visits from your server Katie that another food selection would need modification as the chef indicated the earlier selection was no longer available for the eve. The third or fourth visit was from another apologetic lady also named Katie explaining basically there were only 2 items to choose from. After earlier concessions were made and whereby our cutletry and glasses where our table and other guests had dishware returned for water spots which prompted a reply from first server that’s been a reoccurence over the evening and perhaps a new dishwasher was on your payroll.Nevertheless, when left with no real food dinner choices we wound up leaving your premises tired, disappointed and certainly hungrier than upon venturing in to use our groupon offer. We were looking forward to expose your restaurant to our family that resides not too far away and have shopped at the nearby farmer’s market. I doubt the Guleph family will ever frequent your Kiwi operation any time soon.Anyhow, I felt you need to know about our recent experience in your business.

  Outstanding Steak, Mediocre service. So I went to this restaurant because of the Groupon they offered. I drove from Waterloo so it was a bit of a drive. However, it was definitely worth it. We started with the crap cakes appetizer which were absolutely amazing! Had this amazing beer while we waited for our steak. The steak was just so juicy and wonderful. It had a nice char on it and it was yummy! However, the server mixed my medium-well steak with my friend’s medium. To be honest, the medium was much better. After I reached home, I realized that was the best steak I had in months. Excellent food but the order was mixed up…
