Another fantastic meal here tonight. I don’t understand why this place isn’t packed on weekend nights. You will not find better sushi anywhere outside of Tokyo or possibly San Francisco. Awesome sushi. Wonderful service. It has a great atmosphere too it. The Lobster Roll was amazing and I definitely recommend the Spicy Manotick Roll.
Love it!. Sushi Sun is always consistently excellent (favourites are the rainbow roll and the spicy Manotick roll). The miso soup is lovely and delicate, not salty. The kids love the tempura. The couple that run it are just lovely and you can’t beat the attentive service. If you haven’t gone, go!
Simply amazing! Everything was so fresh and delicious! We had a mix of a few specialty rolls and some maki rolls. Wow! Besides the taste, the presentation was just lovely. The prices were very readonable. The staff was friendly and the service was great. The restaurant is quaint and spotless. I definitely recommend to anyone who loves sushi. I’m pretty sure it’ll become your favorite like it has mine!
Great!. My wife and I went to Sushi Sun and must say it was a very good experience. I found everything fresh and had no complaints. The prices were slightly high, but I don’t mind paying it for the service, nice dishes and to the husband and wife owners. I enjoy supporting local restaurants. I wish they were open for lunch but I understand why they are not with all the other options in Manotick. I hope more people give it a chance as it would be a great shame if Manotick lost this great restaurant.

Dragon Roll. Not fresh. Something in it was off.08 Feb, 2011Dragon Roll was off!. The first time we got sushi from Sushi Sun we were pleased. Although it was take out, the atmosphere in the restaurant was intimate and the service was friendly. The sushi was good, not as good as Wasabi, but we really enjoyed it. On my birthday we decided to get take out again. My mother picked up a Dragon Roll and a Rainbow Roll. When she got to my place she said she was very impressed by the restaurant and service. Then we tried the sushi. The Rainbow Roll was ok, not great, but ok, but something in the Dragon Roll not only wasn’t fresh, it was off – as in rotten. Since we each had a piece there were only two uneaten pieces remaining. We called the restaurant and, although it was very inconvenient, a friend went to the restaurant expecting that they would replace it with another roll (we were too disgusted by having rotten fish in the Dragon Roll to want another one) or refund our money. Instead, when she got there they refused to believe it was off, insisted that they should only have to give us 2 pieces of sushi (did they want us to return the sushi we spit out???) and made a huge issue out of it. Unbelievable! First, sushi should be fresh! It should never get to the point that something is off (that should go without saying in ANY restaurant but for a sushi restaurant where fresher is better, it’s damning). They finally gave us a Rainbow Roll after a long phone call while our friend was there being subjected to much drama from the sushi chef. By the that point, we were completely disgusted both by the food and the treatment we received. We’ll never return.
