Liked it with previous owner. I’ve been here a few times over the years when the previous owner was there . I usually had the cantonese chow mein (with the crinkled noodles) and open ended egg rolls. Unfortunately, I also found the food to be bland with the new owner so it doesnt appear they kept the old chef, just the menu.
It was ok. I ordered delivery and it was good but not overly great kinda bland, and not worth the money
Bland, really bland. The great food served by the previous owners is but a fond memory. They might have kept the name, but the new owners threw out the recipes. The menu now consists of completely flavourless food. Hospital food is considered exotic compared to Hung Fatt’s. I am now hunting for a new take out.
OMG!!!!. I think this place is AWESOME!!! they have BIG portions, and food thats not full of MSG…the best shrimp & lobster sauce….& ma po tofu, well everything is really good!!!!!
Beware:New management!. For those of you who remember the great food you used to get here in the 80s and 90s and want to relive the experience: Don’t bother. It’s dead. Most of the menu has been replaced with the same bland, derivative cookie-cutter fare you get at every other ordinary Chinese restaurant. No longer worth the special trip.

Went and picked up some food at Hong Fa last weekend. Restaurant has been renovated, still only pick up (no eat-in) but they now deliver. Still great food and plenty of it.31 Jan, 2010Haven’t been in ages but is a take-out only place, no seating, no delivery. The food though is fantastic, or it was the last time we got food from there.
