This restaurant is a unique spot serving the best South Indian and Bengali dishes I have ever tried. As a total foody Pearl of India is a favorite place for anyone looking to enjoy all this region has to offer. Smooth and savory dishes to blow your mind!

Not good. I won’t ever come back here. I’ve eaten at many Indian restaurants and I can very easily say this was by far the worst. The service was slow and they forgot items. We had to get up and go to the bar to get refills of water. Their food was sweetened and had very little spice. It was nothing close to real Indian food. The naan was not cooked – it was doughy/raw and flavourless. At one point in time, we had finished eating and waited 20 minutes for the server before just getting up and walking to the front to get his attention. I would normally understand if they were busy, but we were one of 3 tables. To top it all off, the bathrooms were not well kept and there were cobwebs everywhere. AVOID THIS PLACE. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

Don’t let the outside fool you, this place is a absolute treasure. Despite the fact that we have moved out of Orleans, we still go out of our way to order from here. The owner and servers are very friendly, taking the time to get to know their regulars. The food is incredible. We fight over left overs in our family. (And there will be left overs!). Definitely check this place out.

I started working near the restaurant a few months ago and I was excited to try this. I was unfortunately disappointed on my three visits there… Everything I ordered, the chicken, the lamb and the beef were all sweet and sour, even the vindaloo… The vegetable curry was very bland. I have never had this type of Indian food before, and I don’t have a sweet tooth, making this quite unpleasant. I like my Indian food to be spicy and salty, not sweet and sour. I so wanted to like this place, it would have been convenient.

Even after having been there several times the food still makes a great impression. Took some friends there to try it out and they too loved it.

Worth going back. The guys at work have been going to this restaurant weekly for years. They invited me to join them and I was not disappointed. Very friendly, excellent food (if you like it hot) and prices are reasonable.

The food is great but… … I came in with my husband to celebrate Valentines Day early on a Friday around 12:30. We were kindly greeted by the owner but unfortunately I wasn’t aware until I sat down that all staff had gone home and it was his prayer time. He offered to cook everything we wanted but we felt like we were intruding on his sacred time so we left promising we would return another day. He appeared grateful. We returned by calling first on a Sunday around 11am and the owner said that he was expecting a large group of 20, but they cancelled so he would see what he could do for us. My husband then returned the call to the owner to make his order and the owner retracted on his offer stating that no Indian restaurants are open on Sundays in this city. Why did this owner make the offer in the first place? Why give us the runaround? It states on the internet that it is in fact open at 5pm on Sundays. Geez! I have never experienced such frustration from this business in the past. I don’t know what has changed.
