Two of us visited this bustling eatery for the first time last week following a lengthy review in the Ottawa Citizen. The menu is extensive and a bit daunting for diners being introduced for the first time to this kind of cuisine. We ordered too much food and, while delicious, a couple of the dishes were a bit heavy. Next time we will go back and take our time to order the right combination of tastes. The highlight was the homemade pita. While the service was a bit haphazard, the owners were warm and welcoming. Finally, it was nice to see tables being cleared and cleaned so quickly and thoroughly. We will be back.
Great little place with delicious traditional dishes. Best meat pie and falafel in Ottawa by far. Service was great when we visited – didn’t wait long for food. Oh, and the cheese stuffed bread is a must try!
FANTASTIC FOOD AND SERVICE! Semsem has made some serious service improvements since they launched. They should really consider expanding as wait times prove rather long. Overall the food was made FRESH to order and presented exceptionally. They use top quality ingredients in everything; as far as the mint leaves in our tea!
Food not bad but service is unorganized, too many staff in the kitchen and not enough staff to serve customers. Wait period was up to 45 min , when finally got a table waited 30 min for some one to take our order, waited another 45 min for food that they did not need to cook other than eggs. Tea was served in the middle of the meal. There was more bread then any other dish. On top of that i cleared my own table and took it to their kitchen to let other people sit because we wait 30 min after we were done and still no one showed up to give us our bill. There is much more but I paid 84 dollars for a very unpleasant experience.
