Best Chinese in the Riverside South/Barhaven area. I’ve basically every Chinese place in the area and this place provides the best value and food around. Their combination platters are reasonably priced and their food is very good. I usually get the general Taos and Almond Guy Ding combo. Their sweet and sour soup is also very good, actually one of the best around most definitely.So if you are in Barhaven or Riverside South I strongly recommend this place. It also has a nice sitting area that is well decorated, so a good place to go if you feel like eating out. It’s hidden in a dead plaza so it probably doesn’t get the traffic other places have but I think it deserves to be ranked as the best in the area. This is coming from a chinese food addict who has tried almost every single Chinese restaurant in the city. They deliver to Riverside South, so thats a big bonus too! 🙂
When we first moved in to Gloucester (July 7th 2014) being chinese, we had to try the Singhing restaurant. The food was ok and the service was very slow. We did not go back. Then in the month of June 2015 we decided to give it another try because we heard they changed the cook. We were VERY PLEASANTLY surprised. We have traveld all over China and the food was very comparable even better !!! We had the Peking Duck and it was succulent !! We have been back 4 times in two months. The waitress is very friendly and always ready to make you feel like at home. Second chances lead to pleasant surprises !!
I really want to support local businesses, but have had several not so great meals from here. Bland, flavorless sauces, extremely small portions of protein, overload of celery to fill the plate. Too bad.
Most Infuriating Restaurant Experience. We made a reservation a week+ in advanced, and even decided on the dishes we were ordering. On a night where only one other family was in the restaurant, Singhing could not deliver. 2 hours for them to being out 5/10 dishes. Meanwhile they were still accepting takeout orders and fulfilling them before they served us. We didn’t say anything to them until the 2 hour mark. Had we not we would probably still be there.
Disgusting Pad Thai!. Don’t ever order Pad Thai from this restaurant . The only positive thing I can say about it is that it was huge portion. The noodles were all Overcooked, the tofu was dried up and crunchy, there was no taste whatsoever in the dish. It tastes like left over pasta reheated in the micro with chicken in it. That’s it!
Sneaky stiffing tactics. Inconsistent quality. Dishonest staff.. Staff are very dishonest to the point of lying in front of our faces. It is very obvious owners are cutting corners in food quality and passing the subpar standards to its customers. Food quality ranges from below average to just average, but the dishonesty aspect drives our business elsewhere.First time coming here, I ordered of peppersalt shrimp and received 12 shrimps. Enjoyed the dish, on a separate occasion I decided to order it again (2 orders). In the first, I received 8 shrimps and 9 shrimps in the other. After calling and asking the discrepancy, they claim it should have been 8 and I must have been mistaken. Uhhm.. ok.Second incident: I ordered Peking duck and received a thick duck soup. Second time ordering the exact same, we received a low grade watercress soup. After inquiring why it was not the same soup we had last time and the staff responded by insisting it has always been watercress soup and we must have remembered it wrong. Funny thing is that I have took pictures of the food the first time as proof at home. Despite this, restaurant continued to deny.
Great food!. I’m not sure what people are complaining about, this place has great food and fast, friendly service. Their prices for their dishes are fairly reasonable as well, some are even cheaper than Chinese food places in barrhaven. The restaurant side always seems dead though, I hope they stay in business! Combo plates are big and noodle dishes are fantastic!
