I’ve had good experiences with the staff each time and they are always patient explaining the name of each sweet as well as what they’re made of and taste like if I haven’t had it before.The prices are about the same as most other Arabic sweet shops in Ottawa, I think? Getting about 5 to 6 pieces of assorted sweets is usually about $10 for me?They also sell some broken baklava and food on a small shelf if you just want pure baklava for a cheap price 😉
Rude…. My family has been purchasing our sweets here since they opened… We are not of the same culture and these things usually do not matter as the area is very diverse… But today was something for the books… I walked in with my young son ready to purchase dozens of cookies and a dozen pastries…. We were the only people in there with 4 workers in the back room…. I waited patiently for someone to even say 1 moment…. Or someone will be with you in a second…. NOTHING…. after waiting about 5-7mins (for the benefit of the doubt)…. They looked at me and did not say a word…. Completely shocked and disappointed I just turned around and left. I find this very troubling as we always support local businesses in anyway possible!…. They have lost our entire families business for good. This is not customer service or an experience that anyone should experience again. Maybe they should reevaluate their business practices and treat ALL customers that enter their doors with respect and kindness.
Amazing products. This unassuming pastry shop is a delight to both your senses and tastebuds. The creations are colourful, fantastical and delicious. The Baklava dipped in chocolate is pure pleasure.Once you have had their pastry trust me nothing will come close. For a wonderful inexpensive treat, I suggest taking a friend and allowing them to experience the sweet pleasures of sweet castle
Love it. This is a really great place. I love the atmosphere and the quality of the goods. Drink sizes are small but they taste good. The Lebanese pastries taste authentic and they use really high quality ingredients. IMO best Lebanese pastry shop in town.
Overcharged for weak coffee and awful sweets. Coffee was overpriced for the amount I was given (more than $2.00 for less than a small at Tim Hortons), and it was so weak that I could clearly see the bottom of the cup. My fiance got a mango pudding that she didn’t want to finish, which is weird cuz she’ll eat anything as long as it’s sweet. I tried a bit, it was chalky and tasted awful and fake. It was overpriced too.Service was not all that great. We tried to be friendly but everyone we talked to just responded with one word answers. The next person who walked up to the counter was greeted warmly and offered samples (I caught from their conversation that he wasn’t a regular).Anyway, the entire experience was terrible.
Fantastic addition to Ottawa South. I am so impressed with this place..mountains of beautiful pastries and treats, both Lebanese and French, very reasonably priced, clean, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. High recommend. there are many more expensive and lower quality bakeries in Ottawa where I continue to be disappointed (in Glebe/Wellington). With some notable exceptions they are usually average, particularly given the price/value ratio, Sweet Castle is a gem! Excellent product, great value for money and fantastic selection. I hope they do really well! We have bought treats here to take to parties or as hostess gifts, and everyone loves them.
Great Sweet Shop off in South Keys. Customer Service is really good, very friendly people. Best sweets in the area. Give it a try.
