We have been going here for at least 5 years and it is one of our favorites. A true gem in the burbs. It is so nice to have this quality of restaurant without the hassle of going downtown. The Gorgonzola Chicken remains our favorite but their daily fish specials are a close second. Love this place!
My friend made a reservation on Friday at 8 pm for 3 adults and 2 babies. She asked for 2 high chairs and Zizis Kitchen only had 1, which was fine as my other friend was able to bring her own booster chair for her daughter. When we went in, we were greeted by friendly servers at the bar. As soon as we sat down, I was busy feeding my baby who is 10 months old. You might be asking why we took babies at such a late hour. I came to see these two friends from Toronto with my 10 month old baby and our dinner got delayed from travelling. My other friend’s daughter was a bit fussy when they sat down. It took a while for a server to come to our table to get the order which is fine as our next table had big group of people. However, when our server came to take an order from us, she said that we have to keep our babies’ noise down so that we don’t disturb other customers’ dinner. We were stunned by her rudeness. I couldn’t believe she was talking to us in this manner. Here are things that I want to point out.1. When we made a reservation, we mentioned we have babies. If this is not a baby friendly restaurant, they should have not accepted our reservation.2. It wasn’t like our babies were crying top of their lungs nor we left them to cry. We as other mothers do, tried our best to feed hungry/tired babies, entertain them, and get our food as fast as we can so that we can get out fast.3. Our babies were not as loud as other customers who were trying to have conversations over loud music.4. How dare you to discriminate babies! You were once a baby. Making noise is their form of communication. I’ve been to many restaurants with my kids (2 year old twins and 10 months old) in Toronto. I was never treated this way ever!! By the way, I ordered chicken souvlaki plate. Chicken had nice spices and juicy, but the white rice had way too much butter and there were only 2 small pieces of onions and 1 small piece of pepper. I felt it was way too over priced for what I got.
