Passing through Napanee, on our way to Ottawa we felt hungry and decided to stop by. I was in mood for something different and usual fast food was just not on my wishlist. We walked in and out of few places to stop at Moe’s restaurant. The establishment serves pizza (Square Boy Pizza, good one I hear) but the Indian food was what interested me this time (rare in Napanee). The owners were very kind and hospitable, explained their menu. We ordered puri (fluffy fried bread), Palak Paneer (spinach with cottage cheese) and Chickpea masala. It was a heavenly combo. There was nothing fake or artificial about the presentation, like a home cooked meal would be. The service made it that much better as the owner/manager brought a special cup of tea out as he was about to have one (milky and strong), and then a sample of fresh butter chicken, vindaloo, which he told me were best sellers along with Samosas and Butter Chicken Poutine. I would have ordered more if not already beyond full. Prices were reasonable and food portions a good value (specially compared to Toronto). I plan to visit on way back and each time I pass by. The owner said he is constantly experimenting to serve the best tasting, healthy food to his customers with a homemade quality.
