A few people mite tell you this place has the best ribs in town, I can tell you I have been here often enough to be able to say no..that is not the case. Ribs are always a hit and miss here. Service is great. Food is ok, the burgers arnt that great. Prices here are what you would expect.
Enjoyed the log cabin/barn atmosphere. The food was good and the waitress was friendly and attentive. Prices were reasonable. The air conditioning was a little extreme and people had to go to the car for sweaters. All in all, it was a good experience …. though not a great experience.
Coulda/shoulda been better…. First taste here was coffee that, had I known what it tasted like, I would not have ordered. The clubhouse was just OK with rock hard bland tomato slices detracting from an otherwise decent sandwich. It is possible to get reasonable tomatoes in winter even if one has to pay a little more at Smith’s to get them. I can deal with most second rate veggies but not tomatoes, sorry. Our server was very accomodating and the decor pleasant.
I like it. The pork ribs are my favorite. As with most places, if you stick with the signature dishes you get it faster and quality is more reliable. Service is a bit iffy… sometimes slow due to high volumes during peak periods, but also slow at some other times when there was less excuse. The cooks seem to be a bit overworked and have limited control over cooking times – don’t even think about ordering steak if you are fussy about the difference between medium-rare and medium-well. If you like big cold economically priced draft beers (which I don’t but many do) then the place will appeal to you. The screaming kid factor is sometimes a problem – it’s much more the family roadhouse than an intimate dining experience, and best enjoyed during off-peak hours. Good value for money.
AVOID this place. The last time I went to Montana’s ( a few months ago) I vowed never to return. We were seated, ordered our food and waited…..and waited…..and waited. We waited almost TWO hours for our food!! A table that was seated AFTER we ordered got their food and before I could say something our food finally came and it was COLD. I told the server and she shrugged it off and nothing was done to change it. This has happened to me int he past when they gave me the coldest most overcooked pasta and I returned it….I was met with attitude and nothing was done to please me after waiting a very long time.If you want cold, so-so food after waiting 3 hours and terrible service…then go!
Mediocre all the way. Montana has a big chain feel all the way. They’re trying hard to be cool but it’s not working. I’m sure I would have loved to go there when I was 8.The food is random and unhealthy. And service is slow and anonymous. You can definitely do better than this.
