Always a yummy dinner. Ok, so there aren’t as many people flocking to the Hourglass as there used to be. It’s a bit of a bummer, but it’s reality. The food has almost ALWAYS been fabulous. Their burgers are great. Their appetizers and mains are fabulous. The service is fine and the ambiance is awesome.I just wish it wasn’t so quiet in there ….I remember the old days where you couldn’t in at all on a weekend. Nowadays, it’s a cinch to walk in and get a table immediately. (not that that’s a bad thing!)Listen, Hourglass, it’s time to step up! Grab the attention of the community! Be a contender! You’re worth it.

The nutty stripper steak was obviously frozen when they cooked the little piece of unchewable meat 3 bites were edible the rest were stiff grisle Service was slow due to insufficient staff This steak was so chewy and full of grisle we will never go back Same price as the keg

Terrible steak.. First off my girlfriend and I ate at this location when it first opened at found it excellent. The people were friendly and the service was quite professional. She had the Salmon and I had the parmasean pork chop. That was about a year ago.We went again today and I got a 27 dollar steak. I got it rare and the first one I got was grey in the middle and colder then room temperature. I sent it back (which I have never done in my life) and got another one. It was better but obviously the meat was sitting in the refrigerator for quite some time. I felt bad for the waitress and said it was fine and just said I would have it to go. Between the first and last time I went it seems to have really gone down hill. The menues are the same as last years and extremely tattered. I really liked this place but will definitely not be returning. I know its not a steak house by any means, but they shouldn’t even have a 27$ steak on the menu if they don’t have the market for it and the meat bleeds out before served.Dissapointed.

Incredible!!!!!!. My boyfriend and I came here today, which is Good Friday, and it was very dead in there.. which is unfortunate because this is probably the best restauant I have been to here in Sudbury. The vibes in the restaurant, the customer service, and the food were all incredible!! And plus, prices were very good which made it that much better.I would reccomend this place to anyone!

Outstanding!!. Visted Sudbury Wednesday and Thursday and had an excellent meal at the Hourglass. Service was outstanding and my 3 sisters and I all thoroughly enjoy our meal. We arrived a bit late for our reservation and stayed a bit passed closing and never felt rushed. Wonderful atmosphere. Will definately recommend. 4 stars

Unacceptable Food Quality. We left the restaurant feeling as though we overpaid, for sub-par food that the pleasant service couldn’t make up for. The cooking staff should ensure that salad greens are fresh prior to sending a salad out to the table. Wilted, evidently old, brown-edged lettuce greens in a $9 cesar salad is unacceptable in any restaurant (especially one whose aesthetic and prices lead one to believe that comparable food will follow). Two tough strips of bacon topped my partner’s day-old looking salad, that were impossible to cut with a butter knife, and were evidently pre-cooked and anything but fresh. I would suggest leaving the deconstructed approach to the wayside and focus on food quality instead. I have had grocery store pre-made salads that used fresher, crisper lettuce and bacon. The carbonara was soupy in texture, not thick and creamy with crispy pancetta like I rightfully expected. The sauce was so thin it tasted as though I was eating plain pasta, the sauce having slipped off with each bite. The pancetta came in a large unappealing chunk of meat. This dish was a waste of a hard-earned $15. The draught beer selection was another disappointment, as the beer we would have selected (of only two, albeit local brews) was not even available that night. Based on this dining experience, I cannot believe this place remains open. Great location, and pleasant ambiance, but both will not accomodate for dissatisfactory food quality. I am surprised to read positive reviews here because with so many misses during one dining experience, it’s hard to believe that this was just an off night for the Hourglass.
