Not just a place for steaks. I really enjoyed the zesty salmon with a side of mixed vegetables. The plate was hot, the way i like it, so the food was more enjoyable. They cook your salmon to your likings. Their famous table bread with whipped butter is always warm and fresh and melt in your mouth goodness. The staff was friendly but not organized on busy nights.

Sudbury keg always has great service and food. Another great meal tonight

I’ve always had great service/food going to the keg, reading some of these reviews about how bad it is are ridiculous. The girl having a nut allergie and couldn’t enjoy the Billy minor pie is not the restaurants fault at all. She should have told them first hand she had an allergy to nuts, preventing the desert problem. People like you should work in a restaurant for a month to understand what it’s like and perhaps you might appreciate things more. But all and all love the steaks!:)

Meh. I’ve been to The Keg several times and enjoyed the experience and food. I went for a birthday and I was not at all impressed. My filet mignon was overdone (had asked for medium and it was almost completely cooked, hardly any trace of pink), the ketchup they gave for fries had a film on it from sitting so long and the sauce for the steak (hollandaise I think) was all separated. They also gave free Billy Minor’s Pie to the birthday girl, which was covered in almonds and she has a nut allergy so could not enjoy it (they should have asked beforehand).

Family Day 2010 – Feb 15. I agree with the Valentine’s Day Reviewer. I came in by my self on business the following evening. I had the prix fixe menu and the prime rib was undercooked and fatty. It lay smushed on my plate, pink and unappetizing when I had asked for medium rare, not rare. I did not taste any garlic in the mashed potatoes, the caesar salad was WAAAAY too garlicky to be overpowering, and the salad leaves were limp and soggy as though they had been sitting in the dressing for many hours 🙁 I don’t believe in complaining because or sending food back because I was hungry and didn’t have time to wait for them to eff it all up again. The server was upstaged by her expeditor who had to bring me cutlery, napkins, water (I wasn’t even offered water, I had to ask for it after already having ordered wine!), and bread, which was taken away before I was finished it and none more offered by the server.ANOTHER server came to help me to follow up on dessert and coffee which was forgotten by the server. How can the server not know the menu as well as the assistants?! I also found this place to be EXTREMELY poorly managed since there were about 10 servers and assistants standing around chatting rather than checking up on their guests or interacting with them, and they outnumbered the customers. This indicates to me the management doesn’t take care to properly monitor staffing levels and if one server needs 2 assistants, maybe they need to assign fewer tables to each server. I have been to the Keg in Vancouver and even in the suburbs they know how to implement proper restaurant and customer service. I felt in Burlington that the customer didn’t matter and they were inconveniencing the server. If they don’t want to serve people properly on a stat holiday then they should not open their doors. I may have gone back if the quality of the food and the service could be counted on but now I may not even go back when in Vancouver.

Valentine’s Day. What a disappointment on a special date. My husband & I have been to the Keg twice before , and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Not this time. The ice was almost melted in the Scotch by the time he got it, the meal was lukewarm, and the cut of prime rib was uneven. My husband cut off 4.5 oz. of fat & gristle( we brought it home for our dog ). He did complain about the temperature of the garlic mashed potatoes (what garlic?), and the chef did bring him another hot serving, but he should have sent the whole meal back !
