My Favourite French Fare, outside of France!. If there were a restaurant that I haven’t tired of, then it’s Artisanale. The food is consistantly delicious, uncomplicated & wholesome! We have always left there feeling just right.Yasser has perfected his balance of flavours, not only in his appetizers & entrees, but also his desserts. They offer a wonderful selection of wines to compliment the cuisine, however make sure you try the beverage of the french Pastis! The service is friendly & unpretentious.I love the experience of an unhurried meal in true french spirit. The warm, french country decor in the 2 dining rooms of the stone house, enhanced by a lovely patio, under the canopy of trees, instantly transport me to France!Artisanale, is most often my restaurant of choice, when I have visitors, as i am certain the experience will always impress my friends.Thank You Yasser for bringing us a piece of France!

Artisanale is probably the best restaurant in Guelph. You’d have to travel a fair distance to find a better restaurant. From start to finish this place puts the quality of the food first. Excellent atmosphere as well. Go on Wednesdays for the prix fix menu. The steak frites is the best I’ve had since Bistro 990 closed in Toronto. The frites aren’t the skinny things that you might be used to but don’t let their looks put you off. The taste is stunning. Don’t know how the chef does it. I’ve eaten there a number of times and have never been disappointed. The open face raviolli was excellent and the peach frange . . . something and the rubarb compote were delicious. There are a number of excellent restaurants in Guelph, but this one is my first choice.

My personal favorite spot to eat. I never feel rushed and the food is always sensational. I love artisanale. Yassir is always creating new menus for what the season brings and to give foodies new flavour experiences.

Bland, unimaginative take on simple French Bistro food. Overpriced. Slow, service. What more can one say?

MIXED feelings. I have mixed feelings about this place. 1. THE SERVICE, surprisingly was terrible. Maybe we were just unlucky to get a completely inattentive waitress. We had to track her down to ask for bread, which we were never offered and it’s supposed to be complimentary. She never checked on us when we got our entrees to see if we liked the food or we wanted something else. Later we also had to find her to ask for a dessert menu. Just terrible! 2. THE FOOD. My main problem is that I also have mixed feelings about the food as it seem to be a hit or miss. We got two appetizers which were amazing!!! Chicken liver mousse and chicken gizzards salad were simply delightful. I had duck as an entree and it was sadly just about average; while it was soft and not overdone, it lacked flavor. The sides were alright too, not particularly flavorful. 3. OTHER. They don’t seem to be updating their menu online regularly as I went hoping for some hanger steak and none of the items from the online menu were actually offered. Also, they only offer a select few wines by the glass, which is frustrating when the other people with you are not drinking or drinking something else, so you don’t want to get an entire bottle for yourself. 4. Overall, I was a little underwhelmed by my experience. Perhaps I’ll give this place another try, but probably not any time soon.

Worth the drive to Guelph. Wife had the swordfish which was perfectly done. I had the rabbit ravioli and that was delicious. Service was first class and the chef/owner is super friendly. Will return for the cote de boeuf.
