Had the spinach and arugula salad with steak and it was delicious. Their patio is a little gem that I think most Guelphites should check out. Highly recommend :).
Went for dinner the other night here, the restaurant itself was only half full and they had plenty of staff, our meal took over an hour to be cooked and it came out cold!! Very disappointed in the serving staff and the kitchen.
This is a pub which has always been a cut above when it comes to their food. Both with the quality as well as the presentation – you can see that they’re taking the care that’s necessary to make it worth your while to dine there.Though, I have to say – the lamb shank was better before – why you guys changed it?!?! (seriously, it’s sad – it was one of my favourite things) :)Their pub pies are awesome! Their Indian fare is actually quite good as well! If you’re going to get a burger or sandwich, I hope you brought your appetite. 🙂
I had lunch here with a friend today. It’s a standard Irish Pub atmosphere located conveniently close to the local shopping mall. Things were quiet while I was there today so the atmosphere was relatively subdued but I had the feeling it could be at turns boisterous or quiet depending on where you were sitting when it was busy. The seating area was both clean and comfortable so no issues there. Service was prompt and attentive (almost too much so but I can’t blame them because it was quiet). Food from the kitchen was served without delay and was good (not great but good). The bar offers a good range of beer options including some more uncommon brands, which was a welcome surprise.Cost wise it was about $55 all in for drinks and lunch, a little on the pricey side for what you get but not bad on the whole. I’d want to try some more ambitious dishes on a second visit but would have no problem returning.
Terrible food…and laziness. My friends and I went to Fionn’s for some drinks…and just drinks because the food sucks. All of us ordered beers except one, who ordered a rum and coke. He was given a drink that literally tasted like salt. He complained, and the waiter acknowledged that he new the water softener had to be changed but they just didn’t do it. Next drink, same issue. We then played table soccer and when we cheered at the end of the game, we were told to be quiet by management… It was midnight…not during restaurant hours and there was a live band on that was certainly louder than two girls and two guys. We ended up leaving because we felt uncomfortable. I know people can be obnoxious, but we were not…and were in fact accommodating to the fact that we couldn’t order the rum and cokes. Super lame experience.
Ruben lover. Dinner last night was great. Best Ruben ever and I’m a bit of a Connoisseur. Not a single person in our group had a complaint to make. Fast, friendly and everyone’s meals were fabulous. Great value for the money.
Great atmosphere however while the turkey pie is loaded with great pieces of turkey it also has far too much salt in it making it nearly inedible.
