The Best in Guelph, for food, decor and professional service !. This restaurant has to be the best Guelph has to offer for a higher priced restaurant. We had dinner there over the Civil Holiday long weekend. The decor is warm and inviting and while the climb to the second floor is a long one, its worth it.They took us without reservations and the young lady who served us was great at communicating the specials and bringing our food out piping hot.We shared a Grilled Calamari that was exceptional with a delicate vinaigrette, the Maialino Incrosta (Pork tenderloin in puff pastry) was exceptional as was the Jumbo Grilled Shrimp special and Risotto al Porchini. As with all good things there is always room for improvement: My entree plate was cold so the vegetables that the shrimp sat on were not hot and the dessert of Panna Cotta was disappointing. it was stiff and not of a soft gelatinous consistency and the Coulis was overwhelming. (when I make my own Panna Cotta, I always unmold it and serve the Colis draped over the Panna Cotta exposing the white. They might want to rethink this dessert’s recipe. The owner was working and the restaurant was busy for a long weekend, so they have a reputation for excellence. Yes we will return, this one is a winner and is up there with the best of Toronto, New York and other great cities.

Meh. The ambience is lovely, however, the food wasn’t great. Stale crostinis. Pasta was average, could have made better at home. Caprese salad on the menu but not available, really? did you run out of buffalo mozzarella? Don’t be fooled by the faade of authentic Italy. I’ve been to Italy, this place is not even close!

Love!. Walked in on a Saturday for the first time and was pleasantly suprised. Caprese salad was the best I have ever had (cheese is amazing), mussels were garlic heaven and unique, carpaccio was a nice surprise and delicious, ravioli melted in your mouth. I have been working in the food industry -mostly in Italian restaurants- for 13 years and the food here is the best quality I have had the pleasure to try. Wine is pricey- but will be returning to try out the patio with friends. I don’t see how anyone could say the food was bland. Wish I had dressed up a little for a sense of occasion the place deserves.

Romantic Authentic Italian. I have tasted A LOT of filet mignon and the filet mignon I had here was by far the best I have ever had. It was a Italian version. More on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for! My girlfriend had a lobster and shrimp pasta. Again expensive but the pasta was hand made, and the lobster was plentiful and the shrimp large. They even gave my girlfriend a free tiramisu with a candle in it for her birthday. Quiet and very romantic. Loved it, would go again.

Too much emphasis on presentation and not enough on flavour. Very bland food … ever heard of garlic?

A Nice Restaurant. I went to La Cucina with my girlfriend and we had a nice night. The service was excellent (it wasn’t too busy mind you) and engaging. We had the black bean with pomodore sauce soup and mushroom puff pastries for appettizers which were very good – the pastries especially. For the main courses, I had the wild boar ragu with homemade pasta while my girlfriend had the roasted chicken. My dish was nice but I’m open to trying some other things on the menu. We’ll definitely be coming back in the summer when the patio opens up.

The real deal. If you are looking for spaghetti and meatballs fake italian, this is not the place for you. they serve hand crafted regional italian dishes that are well presented and taste great. our server Ray was on the ball from the start. we had a great chat with one of the owners Maria and we’re nicely surprised by the atmosphere on the rooftop patio.
