Hi just went here and tried to order a cheese curd poutine and the person working wouldn’t serve me. He tried to charge me fifty cents extra because it was late and he thought I was drunk but I wasn’t and when I questioned him about the charge he refused to serve me. Don’t go here if you don’t want to get ripped off. Tangy tasty has great Shwarma and Pierre’s has better poutine. If you don’t want deception or rudeness I would avoid macdonell village.
Rubber Fish. I like to go hear for the onions rings and fish, but the last time i went the fish was like a piece of rubber, I couldn’t even bite through it, it wasn’t that frozen still it was actually just totally inedible. I have had bad fish and chips before but this was one of the worst experiences i’ve had with food. I dont think I’ll be going back , even his burger and onions rings are usually pretty good. Avoid the fish ..
Poutine is the best in town!. Downtown Guelph has some pretty fantastic spots for Poutine (Pierre’s for example), but this place tops them all.The poutine is DELICIOUS; the fries stay crispy the whole way through and he puts a generous amount of cheese on there. The gravy is also delicious. I would take this poutine over Smoke’s or any other. The owner Nikolai is so kind also so it’s worth contributing to his business!
I love to come back!. I had the haddock and chips. It really hit the spot. The fish was nice. They blanch their french fries. I like it.05 Sep, 2010Guelph’s best tke out places. This is mainly a take-out with great gyros. All made right in front of you, hot and fresh.
Decent food, terrible owner.. The food there isn’t bad, the Gyros are just the basic frozen gyro meat, they use canned gravy and the owner doesn’t know what it means to clean. If you’re drunk and have $10 to blow, there’s lots of places to spend it at, but at least this food isn’t spicy so it won’t matter when you puke it up later anyways.
My choice for late night takeout in guelph! Great fries. Chicken breast burger is good as well. Prices are fair.
Average food, fair pricing. We went based on the 91% rating but it was more like a 71% to be honest.
