Best. Poutine. EVER.. Now I have no experience with the burgers, as I’m a vegetarian. But Rocky’s Poutine is the best I’ve ever had. They don’t pour the gravy and cheese curds ontop (that leaves the bottom fries devoid of any toppings) – but they mix it all together in a bowl so every single french fry is coated in gravy… SO good. Expensive, yes. But worth it once or twice a season.
GET THE RELISH. For anyone giving it a bad review – did you get relish on your hotdog? The whole point of Rocky’s is THE RELISH. I don’t even like relish normally, but always order it at Rocky’s. They make it fresh. It is excellent. Also good fries and shakes. If you didn’t get a hotdog with the relish, you didn’t really try Rocky’s.
WHY THE FUSS?. Not sure what the appeal of this place is. I don’t like their hot dogs. Nothing special except for the size and the burgers are horrible. They are paper thin and taste about as good.
When we still had our dreams……….. Rockys is the place you go back to when you wish you could go back.(in time that is)If you were a kid in Guelph in the 60’s & 70’s you went to Rockys just to stand in the presence of a man that new the meaning of life. Great burgers to.
Not Sure What’s So Exciting?. I have been to Rocky’s a few times.I will be honest. I don’t know why people get so excited about this place?- The wieners are Schneiders (nothing wrong with them, but you can get those at food basics).- The hot dog buns are from Wounder Bread (again, food basics).- French fries are just that – regular french fries. So with that, I’m not sure why you would drive all the way out to their location, deal with someone that isn’t that happy to take your order, sit on a deck on a highway and eat food that you can prepare at home (for less money). If there was some ting fancier, I could understand, but this is Food Basics food. Nothing more.
Good but expensive. Someti…. Good but expensive. Sometimes no flavor and sh*t would taste better.
You’d have to have grown up here. You know, I get it – I really do. Most towns have a place that revive childhood memories, or seasonal places that evoke time and place. These are the sort of places you have to pass on to your own children. Unfortunately, I probably wouldn’t do it more than once a year. Rocky’s isn’t that good, and is hugely overpriced to boot. The hot dogs/fries/shakes are fine, but nothing out of the ordinary. If it WAS prices more modestly, then I could see coming a few times a month, but as it is, I’ll pass. I’ve already gone once this season, and will wait until they open again next year.
