Not fresh, seems all prep repaired and lacks flavour.
I was passing through Guelph and was craving some Pho. Seeing that Tom yum had one of the best ratings in town I decided to give it a try. I ordered a large Pho with veggies and well-done beef. The soup came quickly but so did my disappointment. There were literally 3-4 one inch squares of beef in the entire portion and half a handful of veggies. The beef that I did manage to fish out of the giant bowl of broth was not very tasty. I don’t expect an entire steak but the amount of beef in the soup was embarrassing.Also, the waitress did not come to check on me once and so I couldn’t even place an order for some spring rolls.I don’t know how their other dishes are but judging by the Pho, I don’t have high expectations.
Neighborhood Favourite. Tom Yum’s is our favorite family restaurant, located a block away from our Home. We have always found the service and food to be very good and a go to restaurant when we don’t feel like cooking at home. This year two of my three children wanted their Birthday family dinners at Tom Yum. If they can please teenagers they must be good. Great Authentic Vietnamese food, nothing better!
My Weekly Pho Binge. The best pho you’ll find anywhere. So much flavor and substance. Not watered down and dull like most. I come here religiously every week, I’d come more if I didn’t limit my self. The price is most definitely fare for the amount you get. Their pad Thai is pretty darn good as well.
Singapore Noodle!!!. This is my favourite in town for Thai. It’s not a fancy atmosphere by any means. Definitely a small family business that care about their customers. I always have a good experience when I am here. The service is very friendly and the man makes funny puns on occasion. I would recommend the Singapore Noodle with Chicken if you have never been here before. Also, the Pho is delicious. Your food always comes out quickly and fresh.
Good stuff. Definitely try their Tom Yum soup. The Singapore noodles are great as well.
Mediocre Food. I’d have to agree with the previous reviewer as Tom Yum food leaves much to be desired. I had pork fresh rolls and Pad Thai, both of which I won’t recommend. Fresh rolls had no mint in it and were falling apart as though they were made by someone who has never done it before. Pad Thai was simply terrible, it had no flavor, shrimp wasn’t cleaned and half of vegetables it was spoiled!!! Won’t go back.
