Hidden Gem. Who would have known? The outside appeared simple but nice. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming inside. We have dined here twice now. The second time, we were remembered a year later. How sweet :)The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. We received great service both times. The entrees are well presented and very tasty to the palate. They had a great selection of wines as well.
Fine dining. For most people, this is strictly a ‘special occasion’ place to dine. It is pricey, but there’s definite value in the cost. The service is very gracious, and VERY professional (a quality lost on far too many places these days), and the food is clearly of high grade and preparation. I look forward to my anniversary these days, if only for my annual trip to Envers!
A foodie’s paradise. The two or three meals I have had here have been absolutely superb in every respect — on a par with the most scrumptious meals I have had in the best restaurants in Europe, including, for example, one with two Michelin stars, so I am surprised anyone dislikes this place, and wish those who don’t would write a review explaining why. The prices have gone up since I was last here, but I thought the prices were far too low to be sustainable given the exceptional quality of the food. The current prices seem more realistic. Still most definitely good value for money, in my opinion. If I had to recommend just one special restaurant in the whole of Canada, this would be it.
A Highly Polished Gem.. It must be a decade since i last dined here and although it was very good then, Enver’s has matured beautifully into one of the best five restaurants on the fringe of the GTA in my experience. It’s only located an easy half hour’s drive west of Mississauga on the 401 and then just 2 minutes south on Highway 6 from exit #299. The lunch menu with about 5 appetizers and 7 mains offers ample variety with modest prices. Dinner gets more adventuresome with prices to match in both tasting and entre portion sizes with prices approaching those of downtown Toronto’s moderate restaurants. Fair enough considering the quality and array of textures and flavors set before you. Chef Ken Hodgins takes full advantage of his rural location to employ fresh produce bursting with flavor. Today my fresh corn and tiny green pea soup ($7) in a bright vegetable broth was a refreshing change from the many murkey offerings most restaurants produce these days. My main of the Charcuterie Platter ($18) was a substantial array of cured meats with two stellar items, a pair of exceptionally meaty pan fried rabbit rillettes (think croquettes but hold the bread crumbs) and a generous slice of rich duck liver pat. Nestled among these delights were fresh greens, pickled cauliflower, a fig and port chutney, plus an amazing onion confit, all together inducing a state of pure culinary bliss. Service at Enver’s is pleasantly professional, relaxed and competent. I suspect Enver’s could be quite busy on weekend evenings, so make a reservation ahead.
