Been going here off and on for 20 years…..just not good anymore. How can you screw up coffee and sunny side up eggs? Lukewarm and $10, feeling sick. A greasy spoon since 1954. Do yourself a favour and drive a block East to Angel’s Diner.

Great greasy spoon. We enjoy the Georgeview for breakfast.

It most assuredly is a diner.. Heading up to the Terra Cotta Conservation area for some hiking, we decided to get some lunch in Georgetown. I’ve never been to Georgetown; through Georgetown, yes, but never as a destination. We spotted the Georgeview and the parking lot was full so we took it as a good sign and parked on a nearby sidestreet. We were having an early lunch, the rest of the diner was having late breakfast. This place has apparently been in business since 1954. I believe the orange booths are date back to the opening of the restaurant. The menu is full of the usual diner staples, and we chose to order staples. My wife had the hot hamburger sandwich. The hamburger is made that the restaurant and not some food supply frozen patty. I had a taste from her dish. It’s a good hot hamburger. The carrots were a bit on the mushy side for my liking. I opted for the fish and chips (haddock). The chips part was so-so although bonus points for providing malt vinegar. The fish was really good.
