By far the best poutine I’ve ever eaten, and the burger was delicious as well. Such a cool little restaurant, the chef seems like a cool guy too. If you’re in Georgetown or anywhere nearby, stop by for a meal, you won’t be disappointed.

Best in Georgetown. I’ve almost worked my way through the menu and everything has been so good im considering trying the vegan options. The dirty bird and southern comfort are easy favourites. Priced right considering everything is fresh, prepared in house, and cooked to order. The best pulled pork and smoked meat I’ve ever had. Cool and friendly staff with great taste in music. I live out of town and travel for this poutine.
The Mess Hall – The Yess Hall. I went to The Mess Hall with my 2 friends, and we all had a great experience. I have maybe had poutine 3 times in my life (this being the third) and I will be back for more, and more, and more. I ordered The Jerk poutine which launched a massive uncontrollable flavour party in my mouth, it was fantastic. After I finished up with the poutine I put my swimming trunks on and dove in for more, this time having the pulled pork taco, I took a bite and again a flavour party began raging uncontrollably. This is a new spot in Georgetown and everyone should try it. Great food, Great prices, Great people, Great portions. What more do you want? Jerk chicken in your poutine? They have it.To summarize: EAT at The Mess Hall!
A Poutine restaurant in Georgetown?. No its not on Queen st. Its in Georgetown, was curious so I stopped in for lunch. Decent restaurant out of a former baber shop. $9 for a large regular poutine. Now I don’t mind paying that much but I better get my money’s worth. Not the case. Box was half empty. ( Apparently the supplier gave them boxes that are larger than usual) I think this size box should be full for the price.Fries were skin on type, not evenly cooked. Still an OK French fry.Cheese was the proper curd type, no squeak though.Gravy was where they lost me, is was gelatinous and salty. Better suited for a turkey in my opinion. With I new gravy, I would be a regular. Visit Montreal and replicate the gravy from many of their locations that have been around for years. ( La Belle Province, Lafleur etc..)
