Solid AYCE Sushi Joint. Ive been here about once per 2 months (lunch only) since it opened, and its always generally reliable. The menu leaves a few things to be desired, but overall covers the bases on Sushi, Teppanyaki, Tempura, Dim Sum, Maki, etc. The new Crab + Corn sushi are great, and the Deep Fried rolls are pretty good too! I really enjoy the Dim Sum here. Teppanyaki is weak however, which is generally par for the course with most AYCE.I generally prefer this place over Spring Sushi, if not only for the fact it is never so busy. The other reviewer who said they had to wait is crazy. I have been here 10-12 times, and i have always found this to be a fast servery. Sorry for the potato quality pictures.

This is mine and my sister’s go to place when we want to take a day to ourselves. It’s a tradition for us to get tattooed and then head to August 8 for a drink and amazing food. FOOD: The best of all time would be the deep fried scallops. They have a delicious spicy mayonnaise on top that is just the right amount of spice. I have a sensitive stomach when it comes to spicy food and they never upset it. Then there’s the maki rolls. They have the perfect balance of rice to filling. The personal favourites are the crispy rolls and crab stick rolls. The unagi and tuna sushi are very tender and well prepared as well. DRINKS: We had daiquiris, I had mango and my sister had peach. The mango was really sweet which kind of put me off, and my sister’s peach was very strong. Overall, this is my favourite place for a girls lunch and I can’t see that changing.

FOOD:We had settled on the All-You-Can-Eat option for a Saturday evening, which cost $26.99 per person. We were thoroughly impressed with the quality of food that we were given, especially our favourites, which included the Deep Fried Cheese Wonton, the Deep Fried House Sushi Roll, the Chicken Teriyaki, the Philadelphia Roll, and various othermaki, deep fried items, and dim sum options, which were quite good compared to other establishments. We were also impressed at how many items were available, although it was a bit inconvenient to have the paper/pen method for ordering as opposed to the iPad system as the paper was not always available, or was lost on one occasion, which resulted in us having to order once again. We found that each of the items tasted immaculate, fresh, and above all us, displayed beautifully on the unique dishes that were placed on the table.ATMOSPHERE:We found this restaurant to be very chic, with beautifully-decorated wall coverings, light fixtures, and dim lighting to create a romantic ambiance. The tables and chairs were also unique, which allowed for us to sit comfortably while enjoying our items. We felt as though we were dining in an upper-class restaurant, without having to pay a fortune!SERVICE:We were part of a party which had 12 individuals in it for a birthday gathering. As a result, reservations were madehowever, it took about fifteen minutes for the table to be ready for us from the start time of our reservation. It would have been better if the table were ready on time however, we had understood that it was busy at that time, and graciously awaited our turn. From the moment we sat down, we were served by a kind younger gentleman whom was helpful, funny, and cheerful. We enjoyed having him as our server, and was impressed when he apologized for having had lost one of our orders. We were also impressed to receive small wallet-sized booklets which were given to us as a result of having had dined on August the 8th! The birthday boy that was a part of our party actually received chopsticks and a spoon inside of a nice covering; such a thoughtful gesture on behalf of the restaurant!COST:2 All-You-Can-Eat Buffet Options: $26.99 Per Person = $69.10 (Taxes Included Plus A 15% Gratuity For Having A Party Of More Than Eight)WOULD YOU RETURN?Most certainly! We truly enjoyed all of the items that we had received, along with exceptional service, and a greatatmosphere. This restaurant is definitely one-of-the-top for AYCE! Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone!

Pretty much a waiting game. Normally every time we eat at August 8 in Stoney Creek everything is good. This time around it would probably be the worse time yet. Our food order would come out every 20-25 minutes, and even when we already started the second round, we would get our first round as well with our second round. We barely saw our server and we never got asked how everything was, or if we needed anything else. We waited 45 minutes to an 1 hours for our dessert, in which someone took our order sheet, and we also placed a take out order. After waiting 45 minutes we had to ask if our dessert was still coming as well as our takeout. We still did not get our dessert even when we asked for it twice, and they got our take-out order all wrong even when we placed the order in person. In the takeout there was no napkins, utensils, soya, or wasabi. Normally everything is good, but that last time it was pretty much a waiting game… and no one likes that. We were not happy about that last visit we made.
