We wouldn’t consider ourselves AYCE Sushi aficionados but, well, you know…So… hear us now and believe us later: Hotaru Sushi in the West(est) End is, hands down, the best AYCES place in Hamilton. Snow crab legs and lobster for a price that is typical of most AYCE places without these crustaceans on their menus? Oh snap, indeed…And the service? Outstanding, truly.You gotta get down to Hotaru… ’nuff said.
Best sushi in hamilton. Hotaru has become our favourite place for excellent quality sushi. Service is very good and super friendly staff. Lunch price is very reasonable.
These reviews are bought?. The quality of food and service has not changed from kasa. Please trust me. I came here in faith that it might have and because I had a discount but it wasn’t very good. The service was nice even if not very good. Came here on a weekday maybe there is better staffing on weekends?
Best sushi resturant. The staff are very friendly and actually talk to you when they come to your table (ex. tell you want dish it is). the food is really good as well. probably has the best sushi out of all of the sushi resturants i’ve been to.
WAY better than kasa. The last time i came here was when it was kasa and its 100% a huge improvement. Still looks the same though lol. (But a little more cheaper looking?) Went with my friends and we all had a great time. I was really impressed with the service (Thanks christ!). The waiters are always checking if your drink is full and that youre doing ok. All the food was so good too. I’m a really big sushi person and the sushi here is so great and presented in such a beautiful way. LOVE the boats. Very memorable! I dont usually write reviews but it was such a great experience that i had to write something. My friends and i will coming back very soon.
Vegan menu.. We always take out order at hotaru restaurant.One of the staff very carefully tell me about (whats in it and what made for etc,.) and we really enjoy every time.
Horrible Knowledge of Own Products. Yesterday my boyfriend and I were planning to go here. I am vegan and also gluten-intolerant. I called ahead to verify if there were menu options that would be safe for me to eat. I was told very certainly that there were vegan options and they would be safe for my allergies. We travelled all the way over to Hotaru (it was in no way nearby). Upon arrival the staff was very ill-informed about allergy concerns. Upon asking the chef there were in fact NO options at all for someone who’s vegan (or with related allergy concerns). There was a total lack of knowledge displayed why both the staff who answered my phone call and those we dealt with in person. If you have any sort of dietary or allergy concerns I would definitely suggest you look elsewhere. Even if someone tells you the food will be safe when you check, they clearly do not know what their menu contains.
