Quite literally, the finest meal I have eaten out in years. From the owners personally greeting me, to an amazing wine recommendation, topped with amazing local produce and meats, I cant really recommend a place more. We had the Warm Goat Salad, Veal and Beef, and a side of Veggies, and it was more than enough for two ($60 Total). The menu changes often depending on what local food they acquire, so that just makes me want to come back regularly.Seriously, if you want an amazing meal, for a totally reasonable price, go here. You will NOT be disappointed.GO EAT HERE. Nuff said.
A restaurant with a humble, talented and passionate chef cooking for the people, that was my take away after dining at Nellie James Too. The chef takes trips to the market or chooses what ingredients to cook with based on what vendors bring to his restaurant, and then created amazing dishes with what he has for the day. Talk about creative and spontaneous cooking. We had the pleasure of trying 3 dishes. The first, venison tenderloin with fried carrot and muffato cheese. Deliciously delicate and served with a frothy shot made with a wine base, they worked really well together. Next, local berkshire pork terrine with pickled daikon and CANDIED GARLIC. Let me start with the fact that I’m not a terrine fan, however I tried it regardless just to see the magic of candied garlic. I’m going to say this agian, candied garlic. It should be a thing, it was great. We finished with stewed Ontario cherries paired with vanilla cream and toasted hemp seeds. Holy fantastic dessert, light, fluffy and full of flavour thanks to the hemp seeds.Overall, a fantastic experience. Would love to go back and experience their Sunday Supper Series!
We dined at #HamOnt’s Nellie James Too for their #SundaySupperSeries! All I can say is go ASAP. What an amazing experience, too many dishes to count (over 16) & same with #desserts all for a ridiculously low price. More photos to follow #foodporn #foodie #foodcoma
