I have been here twice. Once with my daughter for lunch and once with my dining group for Jazz Brunch on Sunday.Atmosphere- Bright , light and cheery. The waitresses I encountered both visits were lovely. One informed me that tips were included in the prices. It is a fair wage employer. When we went for the Jazz Brunch we realized that the room doesn’t have anything to absorb the sound in it. The result was a very loud experience when soft Jazz in the background would have been lovely. Another thing to mention is the tables and chair quality. The chairs are uncomfortable for a coffee shop and legs stick out in such a way that many people trip over them getting in and out. With a hot beverage on the table these table sets are an accident ( or a few) waiting to happen. Poor choice.Food- The pretzel sandwiches are excellent. I have tried 2 of them and have been pleasantly surprised how nice these buns work. The salads are fresh and full of goodness. Scones are not the best in town but passable. I would prefer if they were served warm with cream and jam. The soup changes daily and reports on it for our brunch as it was very nice. The sandwich on brunch menu was nothing to write home about. That was the only complaint in the group other than the plates came cold. This was probably because they did not have staff to accommodate such a large group. However, the reservation was made with plenty of notice so they should have had them.Service- Very lovely people working there but overwhelmed with a larger group. See note above about them,
So I haven’t had a chance to eat here and will revisit when I do.Up to now I’ve had coffee, espresso, iced coffee, and some beer. All in all the service is excellent with all the employees seeming to be very well informed on the product. They carry beer from many different Ontario craft breweries that you cannot find anywhere else, which is super cool. Their draft selection is fluid and rock solid.Coffee is excellent, tastes identical to Bread Bar, but a little pricy per cup.Clean, minimalist, nice place for a coffee in the morning. EDIT: Upped my rating. I visited a dozen times, and tried the beer, pretzels, sandwiches, and espresso. All are amazing. The espresso really stands out.
