Beautiful little space on James Street. Food executed with care, nice service. Had breakfast which was very satisfying, high quality ingredients, everything was fresh and tasty. Great coffee. Recommend.
Finally had a chance to grab some breakfast here on a weekday, which was good since it wasn’t overly busy like it is often on the weekends. The breakfast menu selection was more plentiful than i expected, with the famous hipster avocado toast of course. I decided to go with a more basic Bacon and Eggs, though in retrospect should have tried the toast, lol.Atmosphere – Small and cozy, with tables meant to be shared, they need more room for sure. But clean and sharp with a bright atmosphere, its a nice little space.Food – Good, if not exciting. The Sourdough bread was way too toasted, which really took away from the meal, but the eggs were fluffy and perfect, with great seasonings. The bacon was crispy and tasty, and done well. Coffee is excellent. Worth coming back just for that.Service – Prompt, courteous, and genuine, no complaints here!Value – Average to poor really. Coffee and breakfast (Which was Toast, 2 eggs and 3 slices of Bacon) came to over $17. A little much.Ill go back to try some other menu items that are probably worth the higher price, as well as their SteamPunk coffee.

This place has my absolutely most wonderful breakfast menu item on it. If you have been here you are sure to know what I am going to say. There usually are a few people eating it in the place at any given time.Atmosphere- It is light and bright but far too small for it’s popularity. They do not take reservations and if you don’t have to wait for a seat it is a good day. The patio on the street ( literally ) has eased up some of the congestion although I won’t sit out there. ( I feel like a car is going to crash into me at any given moment.Food- You MUST try the Avocado Toast. This is a perfect dish in my eyes. A piece of toast topped with the following: roasted red pepper, goat cheese, avocado, fried egg, spiced lentils and the piece de resistance… Their home made salsa verde! Simply scrumptious! I have tried the mushroom toast but it doesn’t have the same effect on me. The other items on menu are really good but everytime I order something different it is a huge disappointment. Sometimes they run out of avocados and I am forced to eat something else. When this happens I usually crave the avocado toast until I get back there. Drinks are good too.Service- Always good. Always pleasant.Impression- Love it ! Only thing I would want is for them to be in a larger place.
The food was good but the experience was disappointing. We waited for our food to long. We watched other tables being seated served and leave before our drinks even came. I had green tea- I didn’t enjoy my tea but my husband’s espresso was nice and smooth. Good for instagram and breakfast sandwiches that take too long.
Excellent food! For a brunch place, the price is very decent for all the flavours you get! We got the Westerner (the chicken dish with the spicy maple sauce), the avocado toast, and the short ribs. The eggs were cooked perfectly (well for us because we like them a bit runny). All of the dishes were popping with flavours!! We also had loose leaf earl grey tea and two steampunks (coffee) which were also top quality! The only thing about this place is that there are limited number of tables. So lots of people do take out. The waiter was super nice but he was also very busy so we had to wait a bit to get a table that was cleaned and also to order. But I highly recommend this place. It has an open kitchen with very clean interior. It left me a great impression.
This place gave me a total lady boner. Love the style, space, menu, drinks. Everything! The cereal squares are whimsical and the savoury dishes are classic comfort food. thehungrygnome.net
