Really bad food, there was no authentic Indian taste at all. Both dal and saag paneer was horrible, waste of food and money. Will never go to this place again, this place doesn’t even deserve a one star rating
First and foremost I would like to say that their ambience is amazing and so is the warm and courteous behavior of their staff. Whenever I visit here with my wife, we really have a great time.
We come here regularly for lunch buffet. For $11 you get some pretty good Inian cuisine. They used to only have the buffet on weekdays but now it is extended to weekends as well. You can almost miss it if you haven’t been to it before. There is a new sign in front so it should make it easier . It is tucked in a strip mall on the one way Main street when coming off the 403 main cut off. . It is before the Tim Hortons on the right side.Atmosphere- Once you successfully find the place inside is done up quite nicely in what I would imagine fine dining in India would look like. A lot of gold and red. Chairs are comfortable and pictures depicting India are along wall. There are lace drapes to hide the fact you are in a strip mall. They used to serve the dishes in authentic looking copper pot warmers but now it has been replaced with the non description food serving areas any cheap buffet place has. Too bad.Food- This place is usually quite full for lunch. They have a cold table with sales and some jot sauce and csweet chutney. I especially like the chutney to break up the heat with my sweet. There are only 8 hot dishes including the rice so if you want more variety of just ok dishes then go to Modern Indian Buffet but if you want a few good tasting dishes go here. They serve some dishes everyday- the butter chicken- moist chicken in a good sauce ( better than Indian Village and Modern Indian buffet but not as good as Sagamatha) , tandoori chicken- all chicken legs moist with a lovely tandoori flavour, some type of paneer – cheese and gren peas or spinach. – They need to add a little more gee (indian cheese like dish) but taste is good., Naan bread- I think they don’t take care in making it because it is usually dry and not even buttered ., rice – just ok. Now they mix this up with a variety of other dishes . One of my favourite is the goat curry dish. It has the meat just fall.off the bone. Today was an exception. If I had not been here so many times this dish would have disappointed me . I know they usually make this dish fantastic. They other dies tend to be vegetarian bit really good. With this new buffet server it looks like breaded sliced potato and onions might be a regular dish- I thought they were pretty good. For dessert they have these sweet balls with syrup. My husband loves them but I dot care for them at all. Not because this place makes them poorly, more because I just don’t like this dish.Service- Always good. They fill glasses of water and clear old plates promptly. This is the best quality of a waiter in buffet style place for sure and they do this well. I have never seen a woman serve here in more than 20 years we have eaten there. I guess this place isn’t as equal opportunity as Mr Trudeau.Overall – You can’t beat the quality for the price in this city in my opinion so I will be back again and again.
