Enjoyed a Friday night out at S&M last night. Nice place, good feel and vibe. Food was good. Nothing that blew our socks off. Koren bbq chicken appy was very good. French onion soup was ok but too much cheese. Fish & chups were average but the batter was nice and light. Service was well attended. Overall a 3 out of 5. Would I go back again…maybe, but not rushing back.
Came here for dinner last night, for the first time, as I’ve heard from other people that it was good place to go. Made a reservation because we knew it was going to be busy, which it was. Service was excellent, atmosphere was good, food was great. Would definitely go back.
Great food! Really good service and cool atmosphere. We went on Valentine’s Day and while it wasn’t the most romantic place to go, we still enjoyed ourselves.
First off, my brother and I went in there and service was impeccable. We’d get asked if everything is OK, perhaps about 5-6 times during our meal. Hummus is very flavourful. Steak was tender juicy.
Went here last night with my dining group. It is quite hard to find because it is located in a mall behind ( beside ) the new Shoppers Drug Mart on Rymal Rd. I think the best way to get to the parking lot is off Rymal.Atmosphere- Large, bright and a lot of big television screens up high. There were different option for seating- high chairs and tables. cozy large booths, and the usual upholstered seat along one side with a line of pull up chairs. In the warmer months they have a patio on the side that looks promising. The acoustics are not the best here I think because of the large size with nothing to absorb noise. If you are going to watch a game then great spot but on the other hand if you want to chat , not so great. I could barely hear the people speaking close to me.Food- Now this is where this place excelled. I had an appetizer- dragon boat lettuce wraps- Yum. This was a bowl of crunchy noodles mixed with chicken, shredded mixed vegetables, cashews, and a mixture of hoisin and peanut sauces. This was served with spears of young romaine leaves. You had to spoon the mixture onto the leaf and take a bite. It was wonderful in taste. There was so much of it , it could almost be a meal. Mains included- 1) Bison burger ( brioche bun) with cheese- very juicy and tasty , 2)chicken burger- real chicken – very good 3) fish tacos- just ok. I would not do these again. If i want a good taco I will go to Mexcal again ( I would say the Mule but they don’t serve tea) 4) Saigon bowl- fantastic- the mixture of chicken, rice, teriyaki sauce and vegetables was wonderful. 5) The shrimp, chicken and beef soup ( not sure of the name)- Tasty. 6) The french onion soup was excellent according to my friend. 7) Fish and chips- great and my dining buddy was glad she only ordered 1 piece. They are generous with servings. 7) This was the hit of the night- Grilled cheeseburger- Wow! What a sandwich. It stool about 6 inches tall wit coleslaw and cheese inside grilled french bread. My friend said it was awesome and could only eat half of it. Sides come with the mains ( you can substitute with or without extra charge depending on choice) Sides included- 1) garlic mashed potatoes- good but not great. 2) broccoli cheddar cheese soup- wonderful flavour 3) caesar salad- small bowl but with real bacon pieces and shaved parmigiana cheese. – dressing was delish! 4)french fries- very good but cold with great seasoning. The garlic dill dip was awesome. 5) sweet potato fries-only OK but don’t order chipotle dip- not great. Dessert- 2 dining buddies shared the Opera style cake with a catchy name ( too bad I cant catch the name now) I heard so many Mmms throughout so I didn’t even have to ask if they enjoyed it.Service- We had 14 diners and 1 waitress who was attentive. She had help only delivering meals all at the same time ( which is the way it should be done. ) She had our bills there when we wanted them, she boxed up our doggy bags so quickly , She was a pro.I will be back probably next summer on the patio.
