I dont like to leave bad reviews. But unless you know the problem, it wont get fixed!We didnt get a chance to try any of the food-as hungry as we were-only b/c we waited so long for our drinks! One table was full inside and 2 other tables on the patio. So its not like they were so busy. Server neglected to bring me tabasco I axed* for despite coming out 3-4x then came and made a comment about Im already done my drink and I dont need it anymore. Never brought it out. I hate when you get served a giant glass of ice and question whether there is any alcohol in it. Im not saying this place cheats you on your drink, but it certainly wasnt clear that there was anything other than ice and a bit of mix in it.
I have been coming to Wendel Clarks very often since their opening In June. The food is always fantastic and comes out very timely. The servers are fantastic very nice and very pleasant to speak to. The most unfortunate part is the female manager who works at this establishment, I have heard the way she speaks to her staff on the phone right in the middle of the restaurant numerous times, and while the girls are working (I obviously come at bad timing or this happens all the time). I have also heard the staff at times when I’m sitting near the computer voice their concerns about how uncomfortable they feel while working with Nikki, and they wish Matt was there. There is also a ministry issue here, it’s awful listening to the waitresses talk amongst themselves that while this Nikki woman is working they do not get breaks when working over 5 hours. I know the restaurant business is a hard business but this woman needs to be fired she is a terrible person who bullies her staff and isn’t very pleasant to the customers, and violates many labour laws including making these servers tip out and leaving the girls with less than minimum wage for the hours they’ve worked as this restaurant isn’t busy. Hang in there ladies, I promise il keep coming and tipping you lots.
1/2 Rude server, an unusual long wait time on appetizers with no follow-up as they attend to another table who had bigger order than us and the restaurant wasn’t even that busy, server assuming that we were not paying the beer that was ordered from our table when we stood up to leave, no managers available when asked as they were too busy in the kitchen, server was a lot more rude while this was all unfolding.
If I could rate it a ZERO I would. Worst food I have ever had. Wasn’t even busy and it took an hour and a half to get our food. Manager even came out and apologized and gave us some stale tortilla chips with salsa and sour cream. Then said we would get 25% off. We only paid for our drinks and appetizers and then Manager came out and said that was normal time to get food. From the outside it looks really nice – inside looks like a Denny’s with a bunch of TV’s. The poor waitress kept apologizing and by the end was in tears. Save yourself the disappointment and don’t waste your time. I feel sorry for Wendel Clark having his name associated with this place!
Arrived last Thursday March 17th first sign said they were open to midnight, it was 10:30pm so I thought we were good. When we got to the doors there was a sign saying closed and the doors were locked. I double checked the hours, a friend tried getting the attention of wait staff who pointed at the door which was locked. He tried the door which was locked, we tried to explain this to them and were ignored. I guess they wanted to to close early. If they don’t want our business there are plenty of decent restaurants in the area.
Fantastic food and service. Friendly staff and excellent decor made this a very memorable visit. The service was fast and the menu is varied. A++!
Went after the TICATS Labour Day classic – The food when it came – was just plain bad – it may have been only somewhat bad had it not sat under a heat lamp. Service was deplorable – obviously they were short staffed probably due to the long weekend – and the owner sat at a table near us doing paperwork…..? Get up off you a_s and help out. ( I used to own a pub) Whats weird it was not busy 1/5 full.. My friend ordered a margarita — it was literally undrinkable sent it back — first time in my middle aged life that I have sent a drink back — didnt help that it took 35 minutes to get the drink the first time. They replaced the margarita this time only 15 minutes and it was just as bad as the first time. We left . If i was Wendell – I would remove my name from this franchise location.
