Becky’s is a quaint little shop tucked away in the heart of Burlington. They serve up delicious Colombian fare in a homey environment that reminds me of Sundays with grandma.Arepas, patacones and empanadas are mainstays on the menu, with other things such as traditional soup and breakfasts available daily.During my visit I tried the patacones con carne. The dish is made up of fried smashed plantain topped with slow cooked beef and cheese. I would recommend sitting in if possible (even though space is VERY limited) to preserve the crispness of the plantain and so you get to use some of the salsa de aji sitting on each of the tables.The flavourful beef and slightly creamy cheese accompany the fried plantain well. The texture of the dish changes as you eat your way in, from crisp to chewy. The salsa in store is delicious and fresh, cutting the heaviness of the patacones well. A simple dish but delicious.
