We have been regular patrons at Ben Thanh for many years. We have always enjoyed the food, and the service has returned to its former level. The food is very fresh and has a distinct flavour that we love. We order almost everything off the menu and have been impressed with everything. Favourites include the rice noodle soup, pad thai, spring rolls (fried and fresh) and the meat and noodle dishes.
Awful service!. Placed an order for delivery and it first took over 75 minutes to be received. I then found after the food was delivered that they mistook my order and a whole meal for our party was missing. As way of apologizing for their mistake, they offered to get another meal to me with 100% of the cost covered by me. It then took another 90 minutes for them not to show up until I called them again. At this point the so-called manager was extremely rude, unhelpful and refused any sort of apology. Needless to say I cancelled my order and doubt I will order from this awfully staffed restaurant again.
… Not… Good. Work retirement party.. and people wanted to come here to celebrate.. the food… was just not good… and terrible pho.
DONT EAT HERE!!!. THIS IS FAR FROM REAL THAI/VIETNAMESE FOOD, BOTTOM LINE GARBAGE. WASTE OF MONEY
Couldn’t eat it!. Whomever gave this place 4 stars is out of their mind! This was probably the worst Thai food I have ever tried to eat! It was disgusting. Neither of us could eat it after the first bite. Mine was green curry, which was watered down to almost dish water but at the same time so spicy that there was no taste! Then came a plate of what was supposed to be fried tofu and brocoli in black bean sauce, looked lovely on the menu — it came as a pile of tasteless steamed broccoli under a pile of plain deep fried tofu, with something that tasted like someone bought a jar of black bean sauce, warmed it in the microwave then poured (dumped) it all over the pile of tasteless crap. It was so disgusting!!
Not just me. I thought it was just me, I truly don’t understand why some people like this place, food is meh at best, and don’t get me started on service!!
Go to Thai Coconut and thank me. Not sure why people like this place, other than the selection. The food is decent to poor, and the service is beyond terrible.People that like it, seem to love it. In the 5 or so times I’ve been, I’ve never been able to see why.
