FOOD:We had come here on a Wednesday afternoon at around 12:30 pm for lunch. It wasn’t too busy therefore, we were able to get a table fairly quickly once it was cleaned by one of the servers. I had settled on the Tempura Roll Bento Box ($10.95), while my mother had settled on the Tempura Roll Bento Box With Vegetarian Roll ($11.95). We were first given a glass of cold water which tasted horrible so, we had asked for hot water instead (which tasted much better). We then received our Miso Soup (which was included in the meal); it was good however, a bit too salty, which made it somewhat difficult to consume. We then received our Bento Boxes fairly quickly after consuming the Miso Soup which was nice as we were hungry.I had received the Tempura Roll Bento Box, which came with Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura, which was delicious; very well-coated with batter, and hot (temperature-wise), which I enjoyed. I also received three different types of rolls, with each of them tasting fresh, and with just the perfect amount of ingredients to be enjoyable. I also loved the small rice patties that were included, and the glass noodles. The salad was good however, it didn’t have enough dressing, which made it taste a tad bland. Overall though, the food was pretty well-made, tasting as though it was made that day.ATMOSPHERE:This restaurant was a bit small, especially since we had a stroller, which made it difficult to navigate around without bumping into a table or wall-divider. We did like the Japanese decor which made this restaurant feel authentic; as well as the free WiFi (which was an added bonus). We did find the seating to be a bit uncomfortable as the benches were hard however, we weren’t there too long so it was tolerable. It wasn’t too loud in the restaurant which was nice as we were able to enjoy our meals in a quiet area.SERVICE:Once we were seated, we were given menus by our server, who gave us some time to place our order. We had a few questions about making substitutions therefore, our server assisted us by answering all of our questions with kindness and accuracy. We felt comfortable with her, and enjoyed having her serve us. As we were leaving, a few of the servers said goodbye to us, and even the sushi chefs themselves wished us a nice day. We found this to be a nice touch!COST:1 Tempura Roll Bento Box ($10.95) + 1 Tempura Roll Bento Box With Vegetarian Roll ($11.95) = $25.88 (Taxes Included)WOULD YOU RETURN?If I’m in the area again, I would most certainly give this place another try! The prices were good for the amount of food that you get, and the food for the most-part was pretty tasty, along with great service.
I bought a sushi platter on November 2 and, of course, paid what I consider a ‘fair’ amount but now see on my account I was debited DOUBLE the amount. I am exceptionally angry because this means somehow my debit card was input TWICE. Watch your money, folks – this is not cool.
Not impressed at all. Food was average and service was slow. I was drinking water and the glass sat empty nearly half the meal. A lack of air conditioning on a hot day did not help.
