Service was impeccable, Jess was knowledgeable, caring and funny, all you can ask for really (10/10)! Ambience was nice as well. The food was superb across the board. Allium’s menu changes monthly but we sampled the calamari salad, tartare tartar, the Mac and Cheese, the Duck entre and the Chocolate Pudding dessert. If we have to find one minor critique, the duck was a bit over for our preference but, overall, it was a home run! Thanks for a fantastic evening, we’ll be back!
The food here is BEAUTIFUL – I don’t know how else to describe it. Presentation is top notch, and so is quality. I had the mushrooms on toast – seems simple, but it’s the most delightful appetizer that could easily be a brunch item, since it’s topped with a poached egg. When mixed in with the sauces for the mushrooms, it’s absolutely perfect. I also had the roasted duck medium rare with foie gras mousse – amazing. I was expecting tiny portions for this type of restaurant, but I was quite full actually. The food was ready quickly, within 15 minutes or so. The service is attentive and caring, although can be a little overbearing at first. They gave us a lot of time to chat after dinner, but neglected to ask if we wanted the bill, which is not a huge deal to me because I am so in love with the food.
Went for tapas on a Monday night. Well worth a visit, as tapas is one night only. Excellent selection with regularly changing menu. Varied wine service with something for everyone. Will have to return on another day to experience the rest of their menu.
Came here on a Monday for tapas night. Ordered just about everything on the menu. Overall, great food, drinks and service. Came here with a party of 9 and food came out relatively fast about 15 mins. The drinks were a bit of a wait each time we ordered. Mac and cheese and the tart were a few favourites. Will definitely be back again.
I must say our experience was incredible! We started with the duck appetizer, which was delicious. We ordered the salmon and the catch of the day, pork with amazing vegetables and mashed potatoes. The salmon was really small, 2 inches long by 1 inch wide and 1 imch high, considering the plate cost 29$ but the plate was really good. Service was one of the best I had, feeling our glass, making sure we were ok, bringing the bill really fast, nice and smilly person. Overall a good 4/5 !
My favorite overall experience in Ottawa. Great food, drinks, dessert, and service. It is a regular spot for us! Oh and get the banoffee pie!

Go in eat your dinner order a pie and feel satisfied.Okay so the rest of the menu is good too. The Tartare was boom, visually beautiful with delicious fois mousse and home made chips. We really enjoyed the pork loin which was hearty like comfort food. The bacon mushroom jam paired well with the juicy pork loin over creamy mash. The cider vinegar really brighten up the dish. The summer truffle cavatelli was less of a hit, my wife needs to stop ordering pastas but she loves carbs.. Oh get the Banoffee pie. Get two and bring one home for breakfast.
