I learned more about wine in one night then i have in my entire life. Huge thanks to our server Kenzie for an incredible night. This was a 10/10 night, but she made it a 15/10 (if that’s possible). My wife and i go out for dinner every Friday, and this was such a fun night. The 2nd best part of the night (besides Kenzie), was the lamb….wow! Easily the best lamb (or piece of meat) i have ever had in my life (or my wife’s). I have no idea how they did it, but incredible. Charcuterie was delicious and gorgeous (yes, we love a pretty board!). All the food was amazing, good job bar Laurel. The cocktails were nothing short of spectacular as well. I know we had the Mule, something with Ginger Beer and 2 other which were foggy 🙂
What a wonderful discovery we came across this evening with Bar Laurel. It is a cozy, elegant venue perfect for date night or sharing a meal amongst friends. Personalized, knowledgeable and attentive service was given. Hand crafted cocktails were both intriguing and delicious. I personally sampled the Mule 2.0 ans was extremely please with the result. The menu offered a great selection of tapas which we gladly shared with the table. All small plates were tasty and well presented. Amongst our favorites, the ham croquettes, Brussels sprouts, pickled carrots salad and lamb merguez. The two unfortunate things of the evening, were due to the cold ambiant temperature and the fact that none of us had any room left for dessert… We all left satisfied with a full belly. A bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it. We will be back and share this culinary experience with more of our friends.
Loved it! Atmosphere was super. Service was attentive and kind. Food was as close to Spain as we can get here. May seem a bit overpriced but if you want the Spanish hams you have no choice but to enjoy them. Potatoes were ok but we loved the padron peppers and croquettes. Mushroom dish great and wine list amazing! Will return.
I had a delicious meal at Bar Laurel. I was dining with a friend who is vegetarian and we had a wonderful choice and found a lot of interest on the menu. The smoked almonds were fantastic and had the same satisfying quality of bacon. The dinning room too was inviting and cozy. The service was friendly, attentiveand professional. It was a very pleasant evening.
Went to Bar Laurel with a group of friends for late night drinks and bites. I had high expectations given the reviews I had heard. The old fashioned I ordered was superb. Probably one of the best I have had. The overall ambience was pleasant and the staff was friendly. The most underwhelming aspect was the food. I am not a picky eater by any means but execution was poor and it lacked in flavour. Bottom line, I did not enjoy any of the three small plates I ordered. With many other gems around, I don’t plan on going back, except for the occasional old fashioned perhaps.
Great drinks and tapas! Attentive staff that are know the menu well. Quite busy towards the weekend. One small niggle- the decor does not absorb any sound, so it gets quite loud.
