Delicious home made doughnuts. The only reason why I’m not giving it a 5 is because it is always super busy and usually runs out of the kind of donut I want before I get to the cash, a little disappointed but they are delicious!
These are probably the best donuts in Ottawa. Every single flavor is delicious and they also look really nice (my personal favorites are the cookies and cream and the froot loop ones). The location is a bit out of the way, but in itself is nice. It’s a bit small, but definitely has a cozy cafe feel. The prices are a bit high, but definitely feel worth it after eating one and you get a discount when you buy more.
As a Montrealer, I’m spoiled with access to excellent cuisine, kitschy joints & Instagram-worthy bites at all times. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy dining in our neighbouring province! I first discovered SuzyQ doughnuts on a birthday trip to Ottawa, planned by my boyfriend. We had finished exploring the National Gallery, and decided on these sweet treats for the ride home. I’m a huge fan of artisanal doughnuts, but these truly blew me away especially the unique Fruit Loop and Oreo flavours, and of course, some sugared SuzyQ originals. Luckily for me, my boyfriend has now begun his Masters in Ottawa, and so, I should be getting an increased dose of SuzyQ sweetness in my life!
SuzyQ was delicious. They have unique donut flavours such as Maple Bacon, Lime Coconut and Spicy Pineapple creating a unique donut eating experience. The atmosphere was casual and inviting, and the service was friendly.
My suggestion is try the Boston cream! All the donuts are incredible but the ones with fillings destroy any other donuts I’ve ever had. The cream filling isn’t so much filling as cream permeating pores throughout the donut. When you bite into it there is so much cream it spews out the back and front. Messy and beautiful! The new location is really cosy too.
Best donuts in town. They’re light and fluffy, and have creative flavours like maple bacon and London fog (an icing made from English tea). Great, friendly staff and owners.
