I had dinner with my family at Hockey sushi. I must say that this location is sub standard to say the least. We order a little bit of Sashimi but it was frozen when they serve us. The salmon taste really bad. In addition to not been able to eat this horrible food they force us to paid an additional $5.00 because we could not eat it!!!! This is not a place that I will be returning due to their substandard quality and poor customer service.!!!!!!!NOT A PLACE TO EAT SASHIMI!!!
Have been going here for about a year. We enjoy the sashimi and it has always been fresh. The squid teriyaki is also good and tender. Generally good service with the occasional slow dish, but the majority comes quickly. Party trays were also nice.
Typical ayc place. There over use of mayonnaise is quite disappointing. It was on 90% of the food I ordered. They even serve it as a dip for some items. Will I go back. No. But if you enjoy very Canadianized sushi then maybe you’ll like it. Service was okay. I do have to say that I was there a couple of years ago and it was the same.
This place absolutely SUCKED. Service was slow, the staff were useless and the sushi really wasn’t that good. They kept messing up our orders with other tables. Tables around us including ourselves kept being given food that wasn’t ours, we continually had to tell them we didn’t order things as did the other tables. I’m sure other tables got our food and we got other tables food. We definitely didn’t get at least half of the rolls we ordered and the ones that we did get really weren’t that tasty. The only stuff that was good were the random foods like chicken fried rice and the non sushi items, but even their shrimp tempura was soft, almost like it was soggy. I know it’s AYCE so really expectations shouldn’t be so high, but this place really just sucked. We wanted to try a new place but considering how many other sushi places there are in this city, there are better without a doubt. Will NOT be going back there.
Probably the best AYCE sushi in the Ottawa region we have tried thus far. The fish is very fresh tasting compared to other places we’ve tried, and they seem to have added new things like octopus sashimi (no limit!) and squid! So we’re happy campers in that regard since we love variety in our sashimi. They also have a variety of dishes, including some dim sum dishes, fried stuffs, soups, etc. Their rolls are a tad big, lots of rice, but they also have lots of filling. I only wish they made the rolls smaller.Our favourites were the squid and octopus sashimi, salmon roses, red tuna nigiri, Coco dumpling (a sweet coconut dumpling made with glutinous rice and custard inside), deep fried oysters, and the lamb skewers.
Had supper there last night. Food was great, service needs improvement. Was slow and not very attentive! They were also out of a couple items we ordered. But we would go back and try again!
