Dinner was great as always especially on The bar side where you can enjoy tapas! Service is great and waitresses are very helpful! You can always enjoy your favourite fish any way you want.

Service from the waitress!. Recently we dined at Lapointe’s in Kanata and enjoyed the food. Our problem was with the service. My husband ordered chowder for a starter and my meal came with a salad. He received his chowder soon but there was no sign of my salad. About 15 minutes later I finally asked our waitress if I would be getting my salad, she said it came on my plate with my meal ( I had ordered stew). A different waitress had long before removed my husband’s chowder bowl. Finally she arrived with my salad, and I had about 2 bites when our meals arrived. My stew was in a large bowl which was lovely but there is no possible way that any salad could have been served in this bowl with my stew. The waitress had screwed up big time, but never admitted she was wrong and I didn’t want to make a fuss with so many tables crowded so close to us. Is it too much to expect, when we pay plenty to eat out in a restaurant, that we receive our starters together, instead of 15 or 20 minutes apart. Disappointing service for sure!

Always Great!. Love the food and selection here. Everytime we go it’s very good. The waitress even remembered us from the last time we were there and was super friendly. Although the dcor could use a facelift, I don’t care, as long as the food stays good! We tried the new Bells Corners location and hated it. Kanata FTW!

Great. Fish is good quality for restaurant standards. Wasn’t poor quality fish that had been frozen for weeks on end. I was not super impressed with their lobster. It was pricey and nothing out of the ordinary. Boiled and served with butter. Beer on tap was good as well! This places blows red lobster out of the water.

This place has gone down hill. We had been here many times and enjoyed it. I’ve the course of the last year. Our last two visits were terrible. Incredibly slow. The food was greasy. The quality and attention to detail has definitely taken a Back seat. It’s too bad.

A Disappointing Franchise. Since Lapointe’s franchised their restaurant business, franchisees have taken a good product and made it worse. Having been to the Bells Corner operation for many years, my wife and I decided to try out the Kanata venue and were severely disappointed. The girl that showed us to our reserved table beside the toilet was quite upset when we requested to be moved elsewhere. We were shown to a cramped table further away. Our waitress was very pleasant and apologized for the extended delay in waiting to take our orders. My wife wanted to have oysters but decided against it when she was told that the price was $3.25 per oyster. Funny really because just the other day we had the same Oysters (from PEI) in a restaurant in Lambertville New Jersey at $1 each. I chose to have grilled Halibut and fries. The halibut was extremely small and the fries were soggy. My wife had the same halibut but with a salad and the salad took up most of the small plate. Looking at other diners plates and one could see they were receiving much the same. It seems that a number of restaurants seem to have the attitude that they must make as much money as possible without giving a great deal of value to their patrons. Regrettably we will not be going to any other of the Lapointe’s restaurants as they are probably the same as Kanata and Bells Corners.By the way, the Bells Corner franchise does not belong to the same owner as Kanata.

Best Seafood Lasagna. My boyfriend and I went to Lapointe’s and had such a great experience the wait was a little long but it was completely worth the wait because the crab cakes and Seafood Lasagna were amazing.
